I can't believe it's come to this…

I thought I'd die from a terrible strange accident…..

Or maybe I wasn't supposed to die at all

I mean….

I am immortal

But as I watch her sobbing, as I watch him put comforting arms around her, I knew our fate was sealed

And as I saw the boy beside me, his ember eyes burning, his fists clenched till they were a ghostly white, his heart thudding in his chest……

I knew our fate was sealed, but I still couldn't believe it. I had never figured she loved him, though I knew my feelings so well. We were sitting outside that stupid burger joint outside of school, while they were inside; we confided our dark, dark secrets as though we were two sisters. Btu we were so close, she and I, we easily could've been sisters switched at birthed.

As we shared two burning cigarettes and the cool fog that appeared out of mouth as we took unnecessary breaths, she laughed bitterly:

"I love him, and he loves me, and how do I repay his loyalty, his kindness? But taking him with me…" She said, her voice agonized as she blinked back tears.

Strange as it was, as we were both condemned to death, I still envied her situation with all my heart. As I stared into the crisp, unforgiving cold, grey sky that day, I nodded, and looked at her solemnly;

Oh us the unlucky few, our hearts taken by mortals. But luck shines on one of us here. the quary is, Whom doesn't this luck belong to. The Maid who's joy's are returned in such making so her life is filled with the pleasures of love, or the Maid who is safe in knowing her's are rejected, so her life is preserved from the slings and arrows of the world unkind. But this is the catch, darling; they shall both Die. One by Law, the other by Heartbreak. ...."
