Axel was pissed. He was beginning to see through the Superior's plans. He was letting them take the fall, while he got the glory.
Zexion, Vexen, Lexaeus, Larxene, Marluxia, and Xaldin: They all were dead for the Superior's cause. His best friend was on the run and being hunted by the Organization. His lover was next on the death list. He wanted to scream and cry. He wanted to destroy things. He wanted to be able to know that Demyx was safe.
But he couldn't. It didn't help that the Melodious Nocturne had decided to go even though he knew he had not a single chance to defeat the Keyblade Master.
Flashback
Demyx wiped a tear that threatened to slide down Axel's face. "They're sending the wrong person, I know." He hiccupped, "I don't want to leave you, but I have no choice."
"You do so!" Axel raged, "Please, think about this!"
Demyx smiled sadly, "Everything'll be fine." He sighed. "If I am successful, I'll get to see you again. But, if I fail…" he choked out the last phrase. "Remember that I love you."
End Flashback
"Demyx…" Axel wiped his eyes to stop any forthcoming tears. "I love you too."
He'd have to accept that one day he'd be with Demyx again.
