Double Life
At a café in Manila in the alternate realm of Arcanum, Zeus Star and Blake Nova were sitting at a table sipping lattes and discussing each other's lives.
"So you have faint memories of getting zapped 40 years into the future by a Celebi when you were a kid?," Blake asked.
"Yeah, I can't remember much of it though," Zeus said. "But it's not as crazy as you getting pulled into another world when you were a kid."
"Even though I, like you, forgot most of my experiences with those adventures."
"Yeah, seems we have very similar pasts," Zeus reiterated.
"And somewhat similar present lives," Blake continued, "when you take into consideration our alternate forms with similar looks, powers, and not to mention, our friends and partners-in-crime-fighting."
"Yeah. But the big difference is that you still have the Gary, Ash, Delia, and all the other friends from your Pokemon world there with you, while mine are still…"
"I know. But keep your head up, Z. You'll get them back, safe and sound."
"You really think so?," Zeus said.
"I know so," Blake said.
"Thanks for the reassurance."
"Hey, just from one Pokémon Professor to another."
Just then, Jordan exited the café with a donut and coffee and walked up to them.
"Hey guys, what's up?," she said.
"Nothing, just comparing lives," Zeus said.
"So, get to know each other better?"
"You have no idea," Blake said as the two boys turned towards the readers and winked, followed by the screen irising-out.
