What happens: John and Susan continue their conversation after Gamma comes home. ...................................................................................................................................... Shortly after Gamma showed, John made sure she was all right.
"Gamma, we were really worried about you."
Gamma smiled when she saw John wasn't there alone.
"Yes, John, I know. I am sorry."
"Why did you leave like that?" He asked.
"I was too scared to stay in that dreadful hospital. Does she know what happened to you there?" Gamma asked.
Susan answered for John. "Yes. He told me just a short while ago, actually. I was shocked and saddened that those kinds of things happen at county, but it is a very good hospital with doctors who really care about you and your treatment. They really can help you, Mrs. Carter. Just don't be afraid."
"Yes, I know. But, please, call me Millicent." She said with a smile, starting to take a liking to Susan.
"Gamma, I think everything will be fine." John said.
"Yes, we can talk more about this tomorrow, John. I'm going to try to get some sleep and let you two be alone." She said.
"Night, Gamma." He said with a smile and gave her a kiss.
"Goodnight Mrs....um, Millicent." Susan said, remembering to call her by her first name at her request.
After she went inside, Susan and John continued their conversations.
"A lot has changed since I was gone." Susan said.
"Yes, but in some ways, many things really are still the same." He said.
"I can agree with that. You are still a very caring person to everyone." She said with a smile.
"Are you flirting?" He joked.
"No, no. This is flirting: I think you're very sweet." She said.
"How about this: You are the most beautiful doctor at County." He said with a smile.
"And voted favorite return." He continued.
"Thank you." She laughed. "But try beating this..." And then she kissed him right on the lips. He kissed back.
"Well, that's hard to compete with. You win!" He said with a smile.
