To This Day…
To this day she has realized that she is not perfect. To this day Jade knew that she had problems, she knew she didn't grow up in the most loving home. Grade three created an outlook for her when she was called ugly on the second day of class. Jade no longer felt like she was wanted like she was needed. She felt lonely, outcast, looked down on. Even when her best friend came around during her fifth year. Even when Caterina Valentine sat next to her and smiled at her she felt alone. Cat tried her best to break through Jade's walls. Day by day they would crumble. Day by day Jade would smile a little bit more. She would look forward to class; to Cat. Even after she found a loving boyfriend her tenth grade year Jade still felt as if she wasn't good enough. As if she wasn't good enough for him. She was still scared. Scared of falling in love, scared of falling for him just so he can say he gotten bored and doesn't want her anymore. Jade was getting tired of her insecurities getting to her. She was just so tired of everything in her that she felt was holding her back. Jade would never admit it but by her ninth grade year she has taken an unhealthy liking to scissors. Jade loves scissors. She loves the way they feel when she drags them across her skin, she liked the way they made her forget even for a little while, the way the blood dripped…
Jade's senior year came around and she and Beck were still going strong; to Jade's surprise. She loved him she knew it and he knew it too. They went through a lot of hardships but they stayed together. He helped her cope and he stopped her from cutting and he proved to her that it is possible to love her. It's possible to be and stay in love. It is possible for her to love. Cat also helped. Cat showed her that Jade can make friends and that people truly care for her flaws and all. Jade, Beck, and Cat made more friends while in school. Robbie, Tori, and Andre. They sincerely cared for her. They in a way loved her. They wanted her to open up. They wanted her to stop playing this role of being cold hearted acting like it isn't possible for anyone to love and deeply care for her. But now she knows and she may slip up and get chastised for it but they know she loves them just as much as they love her…but she knows that her life will always be a balancing act that has to do less with pain and more with beauty…because she is who she is and cannot be anyone else.
