Baby Talk
Every one had to start some where.
Harry Potter: Mate!
Harry Potter was ten months old when he was sitting on the floor with Lily when Sirius came in. Harry immediately pointed at him and started flailing his arms.
"Mate!" he said. "Mate! Mate!"
"He's talking!" Lily said, "He talking to you!"
Sirius bent to pick him up, "Hullo Harry."
"Whee!" Harry said as Sirius lifted him.
"Whee?"
"Who knows?" Lily said standing looking at her soon, "He's talking, I can't belive he's talking."
"James know he's talking?"
"No, mate was his first word."
"Mummy!" Harry said holding his arms out to Lily.
"He said Mummy!" Lily said taking him from Sirius, "Hello Harry."
"'ove Mummy."
"Mummy loves you too Harry," Lily said smiling, "Aww, he said he loves me."
"'Coarse he loves you; you feed him." Sirius said grabbing Harry's sand as he tried to pull his hair, "Not so fast, you."
Just then James walked through the door. Lily set Harry on his blanket and walked over to him,
"James he's talking."
"What?"
"Harry's talking."
"What was his first word?"
"Me." Sirius said walking over "He saw me and said 'mate.'"
"That is what you always call him." Lily said. James walked over and knelt beside him.
"Hello Harry." Harry's face lit up,
"Nutter!" he yelled raising his arms.
"Nutter?"
"Nutter! Nutter!!"
James turner to Sirius, "Nutter?"
"I only used that twice."
"You've corrupted my son."
James didn't notice Harry had used his pants leg to stand until he started yanking it and yelled, "DADDY!"
"Sorry Harry," James said picking him up,
"Whee! 'ove Nutter!"
"I love you to Harry, now go see Mummy," James said handing Harry to Lily. "Nutt- I mean Daddy has to go kill Sirius."
"Lets not be rash, Mate." Sirius said taking two steps back.
"Mate! Mate!" Harry said as he flailed his arms toward Sirius.
"Sorry Prongs, I'm being paged," He took the baby from Lily, "Thank you."
"'elcome!!" Harry said laughing.
"Well, at lest we know he's polite." Sirius said placing Harry in his play pin as the front door opened admitting Remus Lupin. Once the werewolf was in his sights Harry began to wave his arms and say,
"Doggie! Doggie! Doggie up! Doggie up!"
"Doggie?" Remus asked picking him up.
"Whee!"
"James, why is your son calling me Doggie?"
"I didn't teach him that!" James said holding his hands up in defense, this caused Harry to laugh uncontrollably
"Nutter! 'unny Nutter."
"Sirius." Remus said turning to face him.
"I'll admit I taught him Nutter, but I always called you Moony or Remus, I never said anything about a dog, mate."
"Mate!"
"Yes I'm here Harry. Bloody hell he's like a parrot, he repeats every thing you say."
"Bloody hell!" Harry yelled
"NO!" James and Sirius both said
"Harry!" Remus said looking at the baby he was holding.
"Sirius Black!!!" Lily yelled grabbing her wand.
"Siweus Bwack." Harry said in a surprisingly good imitation of his mother.
