This is my first fan fic ever!!! I'm happy I finally got chapter one out. I got so busy reading:

Well enough chit chat.

On with the story!!!

Chapter 1: Courage

"Kagome, don't forget your lunch.' Kagome's mom reminds her now 20 year old Daughter. Kagome dashes back, grabs the oversized lunchbox and heads back to the well. "Kagome you sure you have to leave so soon?" Her mom insists.

"Mom I'm sorry but if I'm late again InuYasha's going to kill me." Kagome replies quickly looking at her watch.

'OH NO! I'm late!' Kagome realized in her thoughts.

"Bye Kagome." Sota yelled from the doorway. Kagome waves back with a smile on her face.

As she climbs out of the well a red blur steps in front of her.

"You're late Kagome." InuYasha said blaming her for her absence.

"Sorry dog boy.' Kagome mutters.

"What did you say?" InuYasha yells as Kagome takes off on her bike.

'Never mind'. thought Kagome.

From Kaede's house Shippo runs toward Kagome yelling

"She's here! She's here!" turning to Kagome he asks "Um Kagome....Do you have and ninja snacks."

As he said this Kagome pulled out an oversized lollipop.

"Here you go Shippo" she said handing the lollipop to the ecstatic kitsune (fox).

"Good to see you Kagome." says Sango as se comes out side of the hut (Kaede's hut) followed closely by Miroku, his hand inching toward her butt.

"PERVERT!!!!!!!" followed by a SMACK was Sango's reply to Miroku.

"Will he ever learn" Shippo asks Kagome, shaking his head.

"Probably not." She replies turning her head and noticing InuYasha walking toward his forest.

'Why did his mood change so dramatically?' her mind questioned.

"He's been like this since Kikyo was in the area." Miroku states seeing Kagome looking after InuYasha.

"I think ye should go to him." Kaede stated coming out of her hut to join the welcoming comity.

When she finally caught up with him, he was sitting under the God tree lost in his thoughts.

"InuYasha?" Kagome whispered.

"Ka-Kagome?" InuYasha mutters not knowing she was there.

"Are you ok, InuYasha? Miroku-sama told me about your failed attempt to find Kikyo while I was away" Kagome continues sighing.

"Kagome I can explain. I only wanted to tell her who I chose between the two……." InuYasha tried to explain till the smell of salt entered his nose.

'I see he is going to tell me that he chose Kikyo' Kagome's thoughts whined, as she tried to hold back her tears.

"It's ok InuYasha. I understand." Kagome said loud enough for him to hear. Kagome sat down next to InuYasha.

"Uhh Kagome?" InuYasha started.

"Yes InuYasha." Kagome replies.

"I finally have enough courage to ask you some thing I've wanted to tell you for a very long time." InuYasha says looking into Kagome's very confused chocolate eyes.

"Kagome will…."

What's going to happen next is for me to know and you to find out. Sorry for the cliffy but I didn't want to start my first fan fic too long. Well anyway that's chapter one. Stay tuned for chapter two.
