Title: My Last Chance, My Last Escape
Rating: T
A/N: This is a one-shot my wonderful fiance wrote as a companion piece to "12:01". Enjoy! :D
In my years I've been through a lot. I've fought what some may only be described as "worst nightmares". Some of these things more powerful than the others, some simply stupid, like when I traded bodies with a seventeen year old. Anyways, who would've thought I was going to turn into the worst of them all, Satan himself. But not even the devil got away easily. I fought until the end, even when he took over my body. I was his "meat suit" as he called me, but look who possessed who in the end. Escaping the cage wasn't easy you know, it was the hardest task I have ever completed in my life; it changed me. Old Sam is gone. Now, all that's left is...well, a meat suit.
Michael fought me, or Satan I should say, till the end, even as we fell into that bottomless pit. He would not let go but I managed to push him aside. However, he was my only way out. Before we had even hit the bottom, I managed the impossible. Ruby's knife has help me a lot before, but this time, it literally saved me from doom. As I was falling, I managed to draw the anti-angel circle on my chest with the knife. I was starting to see the bottom, flames and ice. I know it sounds like an impossible combination, but I saw it. I slammed my hand against my chest and then all that was left was white. I figured since Michael was an angel and I had an angel inside of me, it had to work. It was that or nothing!
That's how close I was to touching the deepest corners of hell. Only one little problem now: I found myself in a place I had never seen before. I looked for a close sign but there was nothing, at least not for a while. Then I saw it, "Bienvenido a Ecuador". Based on my freshmen year of Spanish, I was sure that it said "Welcome to Ecuador". Now, if my geographical skills were good, I was in South America. How the hell did I end up here?
"How am I going to make it back to the US?" I wondered.
I couldn't call Bobby or Dean; I don't know how long I'd been in the pit. Also, if i made it out, Michael probably did too and I couldn't worry Dean. Maybe he had a life now...After all, that's what he promised me. I know Dean, and he wouldn't break a promise, especially a promise to me. I would have to take care of things myself, somehow, someway.
"I wish I could just be back in the US and at least know where Dean is, if he's okay." I said to myself over and over again. That's when it happened.
As if my words had been magical, a white light took over me, and when I opened my eyes again, I was in a residential area. I was confused for a little bit but then I realized that I had teleported myself there. But how? The next sight shocked me even more. To my left there was a small house, nothing fancy, but nice. It had a big glass window from which I could see inside; there was a woman, a little boy, and...and...it was Dean. He didn't look neither happy or sad; he was expressionless. So I stood there for a few minutes, trying to figure out what his heart was screaming. Unfortunately, I couldn't succeed. How long had it been? Maybe he forgot about me...hell, I would've forgotten about me. He wasn't ready to see me yet, either way. Maybe he was never going to be. Now here I am standing, looking at my brother, the one I had so many adventures with, the jerk. I'm sure he will do fine without me, but someday, when the time comes, I'll return. But not yet, no, not yet...
