She had loved him. She had known she did. It hadn't helped that the teachers and directors all found it fun to pair them together when ever possible. They had had to perform together, each time his girlfriend got madder and madder, leaving him alone for more and more time. He should have been worried. But he just thought that she was blowing off steam. He hadn't been worried and now look at what had happened. HE SHOULD HAVE PAID ATTENTION! Why couldn't he understand that Jade is a purely physical being, and would do something if her turf had been invaded? Why hadn't he backed away, in order to save her. God, why didn't he do ANYTHING! He could have saved her from this pain. Jade wouldn't have been locked up awaiting trial, he wouldn't be sitting in this uncomfortable chair, and Tori would be beside him rehearsing for their next duet for Mr. Rodgers. They were going to sing light my candle from rent. They had almost had it perfected. If they had done well enough, Mr. Rodgers said they could perform it at the showcase. It seemed that was out of the question now. He would have to find a new song to sing to pass the semester exam. He already kind of knew what he wanted to do. Something for her, lying pale in the bed next to the uncomfortable chair. He wanted to do something from her favorite musical. Something from that musical that whenever he wanted to watch it with Jade, she had laughed and told him to man up and find something not so gay to watch. She didn't know he was watching it because it was Tori's favorite. Rent. HE would have to sing One Song Glory. It fit so well. God, WHY DIDN'T HE PAY ATTENTION! He wouldn't have to find a new song if Jade hadn't brought her dad's shotgun to school and shot the beautiful girl next to him. He looked at the clock which read 11:00. He had to leave so he could get home in time. So he leaned over, whispered "I love you," and walked out the door, hearing the steady beeping of the heart monitor, knowing that it meant that they had a little more time together, another day.

AN- Please no flames. Sorry if anything is spelled wrong. 1:30 am is not a good writing time for me. Reviews are welcome. Also, I so don't own Victorious or Rent.
