I am Arya Gabriel Tonks Cullen, and this is my story. You see, this isn't your average story…I'm not your average girl. First of all, I am the last decedent in a blood line of witches. Second, I am in love with a vampire. But, I'm getting ahead of myself though; you need to know what happens before that…

It was my first day in a new town… my parents had been killed in an accident, and I was being sent to live with my only remaining relative. My uncle, Alex, lived in the tiny town of Forks, Washington, the rainiest town in the country. It's not as bad as it could have been…I got along great with Alex, he's a very laid back guy and not much older than myself. But still, that didn't make up for the fact that I lost my parents, and I was to start Forks High School half way through the year.

"It'll be great!" Alex enthused, "It's where I went to high school, you'll make lots of friends!"

"I highly doubt it, Alex. I don't really fit in anywhere…" As if he couldn't tell by looking at me! I was unnaturally pale, even in Forks where the sun hardly ever shines. My hair was the strangest mix of bronze and black, and my eyes were yet another oddity, shimmering pools of black, blue, green, gray, and topaz. Not only did my features set me apart from the group, but also my appearance. I was a true rebel…tattoos and piercing everywhere, and my usual attire of black scared away most people…and those who centered on me were never people I got along with.

"Oh, don't be so negative Arya! If you think negative you're just going to get negative results", Alex was always such an optimist.

"Don't go into lecture mode on me, I'm just looking at my past experiences…"

"Maybe if you wore some color and didn't get a new tattoo or piercing every other week you would make more friends."

"I wear color!"

"Besides red."

"Screw this!" I started to leave.

"Wait, I'm sorry. I'm still new to this whole parental thing…"

"I know", I sighed, "It's just that I don't need the lectures…this is the way I am, and I'm not changing it for anyone." He already knew all of this, we've been friends since we were born. Maybe gaining the authority of a parent changed the way you looked at life.

"Ok. It's late, you should probably get some rest. You start school tomorrow."

"Yeah, goodnight", I walked away and escaped into my room.
