His hand was surprisingly steady on her back and staring into his eyes reminded her of years before, before three grown kids, and two grandkids with a third on the way, before his band retired from still pretty packed shows. Rose felt like a princess in his arms despite her white hair and her sometimes frail frame.

"So what are you thinking about?" It was easy to ask whatever. She knew how loyal and faithful he was to her and still would be. Decades convinced you of that and took away your seemingly age old fears.

"I was remembering how easy it was before I shook." Luka smiled, and it was easy to forget how shaky he was nowadays and easy to forget how she stumbled half the time on frail feet, if she wasn't paying much attention. Age did come with added trouble, but it also comes with sweet memories and added wisdom.

"I love you," and that would be enough for now as it always was. They'd been through some wonderful times and some absolutely terrible times, times when their hearts were broken and times when they couldn't stop fighting and even times when they were each other's only support systems. Love was amazing but sometimes unbelieviably trying and difficult as well.
