Falling, falling
Falling, falling. The rain is falling down.
The sky is falling in on her.
He is falling to the ground.
Bleeding, bleeding. His blood is falling out.
His life is falling through her fingertips
And she is falling.
And the rain is still falling.
His eyelids are falling closed.
While her heart falls through her stomach.
And everything continues in its downward motion…
Pulling, pulling. They are pulling her away.
And she is falling away from him.
His skin is falling from her hands.
The ground is falling away from her.
And the rain, the sky, piece by piece, is falling.
Racing, racing. She is racing back to him.
Racing through the falling rain.
The falling stars hidden from her eyes.
The night that fell whilst she wasn't paying attention.
The sky that falls over her, she falls away.
Waiting now, waiting while the moon falls from the night.
Waiting as the world falls from its axis.
Waiting while the colours fall out of her world,
While the hope falls from her future.
While all their walls fall around her.
And when they tell her, she is still.
And the rain doesn't fall
The sky doesn't fall, piece by piece.
The ground is steady beneath her feet.
And her heart beats in her chest.
She is alive.
But he is not.
And she never noticed that all the while she knew him she had been falling.
