"Ryan, take care of your sister. Lauren, call me when you get there." my annoying mother said. We were at the airport getting ready to go spend time with my dad in Forks, Washington. Our parents are divorced so sometimes we spend a year or two in one state and vice versa.
"Yes mother." I mumbled and she gave my brother and
I hugs and kisses.
"Here Lauren, take this." my
step-father handed me a bag. It was bulky and kinda heavy. I looked
inside and found some money and some things we may need. "Thanks
Will." I said and gave him a weak smile. No way would I call him
my father even though I don't even call my real father, dad
sometimes.
"ATTENTION ALL PASSENGERS, THE PLANE TO FORKS, WASHINGTON WILL BE LEAVING SHORTLY. PLEASE START TO BOARD THE PLANE." we heard overhead.
" Bye Mom, bye Will."
my brother and I said then we boarded the plane. " Thank god. I
thought we were going to miss our flight." I let out a breath
and got comfortable in the seat. Ryan just laughed.
"Ry, you
did eat right?" I asked just in case or else we would have
some problems. "Yes, relax. I'll be fine. Its you I'm worried
about." I just rolled my eyes at him. "We're not even there
yet. So stop worrying." I retreived my book from my bag and
started reading from where I left off.
A few hours later, I started to drift off to sleep. I put my head on Ryan's shoulder as the time passed. "Laur, wake up. We're here." I felt Ryan's cold touch on me. I stretched and we gathered out things. We finally found our dad waiting for us. "Hey kids. Wow, you guys are getting bigger." he gave us hugs and asked about our flight.
We piled in the truck he has and was driving to his house.
The ride was fairly silent. I really didn't want to talk. "
So... Ryan, you'll be graduating this year and Laur you'll be a
junior." he started.
"Yup. What's the school we'll be
going to again?" I asked.
"Its called Forks High,"
he explained "I also bought you guys a car."
"You
didn't have to do that, Dad." Ryan said," We could get our
own."
"But I already got it. Do you guys remember Jacob
Black?"
