I sat in front of my camera and took a deep breath. I didn't know why I was doing this…Lydia insisted it would be a good idea, but I'm not so sure. I was still in my pajamas wrinkling a bright pink (yet again…Lydia's idea) robe in my hands. I took another breath and turned on the camera, "Hey! It's…it's been a while. Today is a magnificent day! It really is…I'm just…nervous? You probably all want to know what I'm talking about. My name is Lizzie Bennet, but it won't be after today." At this point, I held up the bright pink robe to reveal the word 'Bride' embroidered on the back. That is the place where I edited in the intro later. "Well…legally, it will for a few more weeks, but who keeps track of those details?" I scoffed, "That's right, internet, today is the day that I will become Mrs. Darcy…wow, that sounds weird…I'll become Mrs. William Darcy? Elizabeth Darcy?….Lizzie Darcy…there we go; that sounds better. Anyways! Lydia woke me up about twenty minutes ago, threw the robe in my face and said, "Lizzzzie, you have to update the peeeeeeeeople; they'll, like, totally kill you if you don't tell them ahead of time that you're marrying Darce-face!""
At that moment, Lydia walked in, "I do not talk like that!" she paused for a few seconds, "Anymore…" She sat down next to me, "And I haven't called him Darce-face since he asked me to stop," she winked at the camera.
"What are you doing in here, Lydia?" I asked, amused.
"To make sure you're accurately portraying life to our lovely viewers!" I smiled at her usage of the word 'our'. Even though it's been three years, I still worry about my little sister in regards to everything that went down with George Wickham and her initial thoughts on what the internet thought about her.
"You know I'm all about the drama," I replied with a sigh.
"That's not actually why I came up here; I came up to make sure you're okay and this," she gestured towards my face, "is why. You've been acting weird the past two days, what's up?"
"I'm just…worried…" I finally admitted out loud.
"What are you worried about?"
"I…I don't know; it's just…I don't know…William and I haven't had any time alone in weeks—"
"Which is about to be remedied," Lydia interrupted with a wink.
"I know," I replied, slightly chuckling, "but I'm so overwhelmed…"
Gigi walked in at that moment, "Lizzie, this is ridiculous, you're worse than William."
"I—Gigi…um, hi?"
Charlotte and Jane also walked in, laughing.
"Lizzie, my brother is absolutely crazy about you, why are you so worried? You've told each other hundreds of times how much you love each other. Even William is calmer than you."
"Yeah, Lizzie, Will is absolutely crazy about you," Lydia said, "and you have four bridesmaids ready to kick his a—"
"Lydia!" Jane scolded. She put her hand on my shoulder, "What she means is, Will loves you and even if he didn't, we'd still be here for you."
"I really should finish this video…do you want to share your big news, Mrs. Lee?" I changed the subject with a smirk.
"I supposed there's no getting out of it now," Jane replied, fully walking into frame to reveal her very prominent baby bump. "I still can't believe I'm seven months pregnant when I'm your matron of honor."
Charlotte rolled her eyes, "Because you hadn't been trying for a year to have a kid or anything…"
"Anyways!" I said, turning back to the camera, "The wedding is this evening…It's very exciting! Uh, guys, can I have some privacy to finish this, actually, I…I just need a bit of peace for a while."
"Oh yeah, totally!" Lydia said, "Let's go, guys." Everyone but Jane left, "You're sure you're okay, Lizzie?"
I smiled at her, "Yeah, I'm just a bit overwhelmed; I can't believe it's today….I'm ready, though! No doubts!" I assured her.
"Alright…just don't forget to show your viewers the ring," she told me as she walked out.
After about fifteen minutes of trying and failing to get decent footage for the video, there was a knock on the door to the guest room I was using at William and Gigi's old house (it was the house they grew up in, but never sold—and the perfect place for us to all stay leading up to the wedding). "Yes?"
"I know I'm not supposed to see the bride before the wedding, but may I come in?" I heard William ask.
I smiled brightly, "Yes, of course!"
He came in, beaming at me, and kissed me quickly before sitting next to me, "Gigi mentioned you were having some sort of crisis, is everything alright?"
"Of course she did…" I muttered.
"Lizzie?"
"I…yes, I'm fine, William. I'm just very overwhelmed…I honestly can't wait for this wedding business to be over with—or at least the time leading up to it. It's not that I don't want to cherish the memories of our union, but seriously, there is way too much hype going towards this whole wedding thing…I thought my mom was going to explode last night when I tripped down the aisle at the rehearsal."
"I bet she'd have an even worse conniption if she knew I were in here right now," he replied with a chuckle.
"So talk quieter…just because we aren't much for tradition doesn't mean my mom will accept that excuse."
"I've long ago learned how to handle your mom's hyper activity. Now please, Lizzie, tell me what's on your mind."
"I'm fine, Will, really. I'm sorry, I just miss alone time with you…"
"Well, we're alone right now." Let's just say we engaged in a make out session that involved me deciding to use a jump cut when editing.
"I love you, William," I said, still leaning on him from the kiss.
He smiled, "I love you too, Lizzie. I am so glad you will finally be my wife tonight."
