Day 10: Winter Sports

Every year, the gang went to the ice rink. It didn't matter what happened, if they were currently arguing with someone in the group, if they had significant others…. they always went. At least one person always had someone, except this year. Ross was still hung up on Emily, the others were only seeing someone casually – and didn't want to send signals by taking them ice skating. Only Monica and Chandler had each other, but no one – well, except Joey – knew, so they couldn't really be together. They had actually been the ones to start the tradition, the first December they had spent in their respective new apartments. Chandler had been dumped by some girl, and Monica had offered this as a way to cheer him up. It worked well. The year after, Christmas at her parents' had depressed Monica, so Chandler had returned the favor and brought her ice skating. Since then, they had convinced all their friends to do the same, and they all loved these moments.
And despite all these years of practice, Chandler still wasn't that confident on ice so Monica held his hand most of the times. It had always been just for fun, but now it was a great excuse – because they needed to justify themselves when, before starting their relationship, they wouldn't even have noticed they were behaving like a couple. It wasn't the best moment out as a couple, because they still had to hide, but it was a great moment with their friends, and they wouldn't change it for the world.
