"Tom, are you coming to the class for vampire defense?" Asked a boy with long gold hair and old kind chocolate brown eyes while walking down the hall next to Tom Riddle, who was heading to his next class.
Tom Riddle sighed. "You know, I don't really see the point of that class. Being friends with vampires is all the education I need in the subject." He said. Being around the creatures each and every day allowed Tom to observe them and their habits. From what he had gathered, he decided he knew a lot more than what any class could teach him.
"Well, Evangeline is taking the class…maybe you could, I don't know, flirt her up a bit." Teased the boy, grinning from ear to ear and showing off his long, gleaming white fangs.
"You know perfectly well that Evangeline likes me, and not the other way around. She's made it so blatantly obvious that you'd have to be blind not to realize it."
The boy waved his hand, as if brushing away Tom's words. "You can't fool me, Tom. I know you like her. She is pretty, after all. You better make your move before another vampire swoops in and steals her from you. If that happens, you don't have a chance in the world with her. You're just a mortal, after all."
"I suggest," Tom said calmly. "That you stop talking before I hex you into next week." He took out his wand and held it so tightly in his hand that his knuckles turned white.
The boy grinned madly unfazed by the threat. "Now, Tom, you know better than to threaten a vampire. Do that and they might take it that you want to be lunch." The boy bared his fangs, trying to look threatening and failing do to the happy look in his eyes.
Tom rolled his eyes. "Gnorong, please. I can no longer be scared of you after I've seen you nearly have a stroke every time you see a snake."
"You shouldn't hold that over my head, Tom." Gnorong frowned. "Especially not when I am the older brother of the Dark Evangel. You would be a fool to do so."
Tom raised an eyebrow curiously. "The Dark what?"
Before Gnorong could answer, a loud bell sounded, signaling that they best get their butts to class. "I'll tell you eventually." The vampire grabbed his arm. "Now come on. If I'm late one more time Slughorn will give me detention for a month and take 50 points from Slytherin." He ran and pulled Tom with him disappearing down the hall, with Tom, who never let anything go, wondered exactly who the Dark Evangel was.
