A/N: Hello friends! So today I'm here with a lil story that I hope isn't too shity hehe. I used to write a couple of stories a while back but I stopped, which was a good thing they weren't great (I deleted them). But here I am trying my hand at an avenger's story.

So this is probably going to end up Clint/OC story because honestly there's a distinct lack of those. But I honestly haven't fully decided yet but I think that's the direction I'll be headed to.

I don't think this needs to be said so this is the only time I'll say it I don't own Avengers. If I did I defiantly wouldn't be sat here writing this ;)

Enjoy my dudes! Also there's minor swearing but I'm sure you're all used to that.

Regeneration

Kennedy's life had always been painfully average, that was until a guy with a funny accent injected her with a strange serum and a man with bow walked into her life. Now she's doing something she promised herself she'd never do, Kennedy Walsh had followed in her brother's footsteps and joined SHIELD. Lmao bad summary swear the stories better.

Kennedy had never really expected her life to amount to very much. Everything in her life up until now had been very painfully average. Her father, the most incredibly brave man she'd ever known, died when she was twelve. She learnt from a young age that the world was a very shitty place. It had taken from her the person she valued more than anyone and that was something she never recovered from.

She was the youngest of her parents five children, four girls and a boy. While for the most part she loved them, she felt obligated to, she didn't like most of them very much. Apart from her brother, as arrogant and self obsessed as he was she knew he was someone who she could place her trust in. Probably the only person she could do.

Kennedy was an accident, and it was something that her mother loved to bring up when she did something slightly wrong. She would always tell her 'This isn't what we do Kennedy,' which only fuelled her to do anything but what was expected of their family image. Growing up she continued her theme of being an outcast, and It was just how she liked it. Why should she get close to people that ultimately would leave her, people that in the long run didn't care about her as much as she cared about them?

You would think that this made Kennedy a very cold individual, but it didn't, it made her strangely compassionate and emotional. Although she had no idea how she wasn't meant to handle the sea of emotions she constantly felt. It also provided her with a lot of questions, questions she didn't feel very equipped to answer. Life posed Kennedy so many answerless questions and quite frankly she was very bored of the fact that life never gave her any means of beginning to answer them. How was she supposed to find some beautifully divine truth of her existence that she so desperately craved if she had no idea where she was supposed to find it. What was she supposed to do with her life when any possibility of hope had been tainted by her own mind. It was because of all these questions Kennedy had, that dropped her in a very shifty apartment in New York, miles and miles away from the city she once called home.

"I still don't know why you work there Mike, it sounds awful this is what the second time you've been in hospitalised this year," Kennedy half laughed down the phone, although her brother could still sense the edge of worry laced through her tone.

"Well I guess it pays pretty well, and cute girls usually think it's pretty hot. Besides I'd say only being injured twice in a year is pretty good," Michael replied in his usual overly arrogant voice.

"Mike it's February," Kennedy sighed, rolling her eyes at her brother's so very nonchalant attitude.

"Ugh whatever. Anyways your pretty close now you've decided to come to this side of America you can always visit if you're so worried about me," Michael suggested, he hadn't seen his youngest sister in months now and even though he wouldn't admit it out loud he definitely missed her.

"Well I can't resist an offer to see my favourite brother, I'll come by later this week, I've just got some unpacking to do first," Kennedy said, pouting slightly and she looked at the array of boxes that cluttered her new apartment.

"Ken didn't you move in like a month ago? Your utterly hopeless," Mike laughed, and although Kennedy didn't know it that was the first genuine laugh that'd graced his lips in a while. Working for SHEILD defiantly had that effect on people.

"That's not important, I'll see you later," Kennedy hung up the phone before he could tease her more about her laziness. She really did worry about him and she knew she was very justified in doing so. She was the only one who'd heard about the dangers he faced every single day and she hated it. Kennedy couldn't imagine why he'd want to work somewhere like that. The amount of pressure he's under alone would be enough to steer Kennedy away. She knew that wasn't somewhere she'd ever willingly work.

Standing up from her beloved bed, Kennedy moved over to her kitchen to make some coffee, side eyeing the washing up that had pilled around her sink knowing full well it was something she wouldn't be getting around to any time soon. Kennedy fiddled with the buttons of her espresso machine for a while before being satisfied and letting the coffee being to brew. This machine was Kennedy's most prized possession and she wouldn't let anyone forget it. When she had finally finished making a marvellous creation she let the liquid grace her lips closing her eyes and smiling as the liquid poured down her throat. Being a cliché wasn't really Kennedy's style, but she defiantly loved coffee more than most people. She reached up to grab a bowl from a shelf in her kitchen but at 5'5 she was slightly too small to reach it resulting in it being knocked on the floor, the shards exploding across the tiles beneath her. Cursing under her breath Kennedy bent down to pick up the scattered shards of her bowl that were now covering her kitchen tiles. She continued murmuring colourful language under her breath, which got considerably louder as she pricked her finger on a sharp edge. As Kennedy very dramatically stood up to tend to the cut of her finger she heard footsteps directly in front of her.

"You should really be more careful,"

Kennedy slowly looked up and felt herself stiffen gasping slightly in pure shock. The man that stood before her was one that Kennedy had never seen before, and she immediately noticed the pistol clipped onto his thigh. She had no idea what she was meant to do in this kind of situation, this was her brothers department not hers. So she stupidly decided to do what she did best, she bolted. Her apartment was very small though, so she didn't make it very far. The very sinister looking man followed her, reaching her in a matter of seconds grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him. Feeling a sharp pain in her arm Kennedy screamed, and it was as if she suddenly remembered she could scream and that it would probably be a good idea and she screamed alright. Almost instantly the man shot his hand to her mouth, and didn't seem very phased when she lashed out kicking her body in whatever way possible. Kennedy didn't stop struggling, despite her best efforts being very futile. The man effortlessly held her in place and whispered soothing noises in her ear as her pulled the syringe out of his pocket and plunged it into her neck.

11:00pm

Kennedy awoke very confused on a cold, slightly damp stone floor. In a matter of seconds, she remembered how she got there, and then man in her kitchen. She felt her entire body stiffen and her eyes became wild with panic. Taking in her surrounding Kennedy felt her heart beat threatening to explode out of her chest. She then became aware of the barbaric looking shackles tightened around her wrists. How the hell was she going to get out of this, there wasn't anyone who would notice she was gone. Her brother wouldn't expect to hear from her for days. The only person who could help her now was herself. Calming her breath down a touch, Kennedy vainly pulled on the pieces of metal holding her to the wall. Well, she thought, maybe dying wouldn't be that bad. Kennedy never thought she'd be accepting the possibility of her death at the age of 22.

"I can really see the family resemblance," said a man edging out of the shadows of the mysterious room Kennedy had found herself in. Almost instinctively she pushed herself as close to the wall behind her as she could get. Felling all of the panic she felt earlier come flooding back.

"My apologies that we had to meet under these circumstances," the man said again, lingering over his final word. The first thing she noticed about him was his accent, it was something that Kennedy couldn't quite place, she was sure it was European though. His facial features looked exhausted, she didn't think she'd ever seen something look so tired, so worn. The look in his eyes was crazed, a crazed looking excitement. Kennedy could tell that he wasn't the most stable of people. He also looked considerably older then Kennedy, she could tell instantly that he wasn't just some random criminal.

"What do you want from me?" Kennedy questioned, her voice almost at a whisper.

"All in good time, all in good time. First, I think it would be nice to make a little call. To your brother perhaps?" the man replied, coming further out of the shadows and pulling out a phone. It was in this moment that Kennedy Walsh realised she was well and truly fucked. Although she didn't know details she knew that her brother had made some very dangerous enemies, ruthless, evil enemies. The man then dialled a few numbers into his phone, a very smug expression lighting up his face. As the phone rang out he put it on speaker, and Kennedy was dreading the conversation that was about to follow.

"Michael, how lovely it is to speak with you again. I've missed you." The man found his way to the chair that was only inches away from Kennedy and sat down, staring very intensely into her bright green eyes.

"What do you want Jonah," Replied the voice of her brother through gritted teeth.

"Well you don't sound very happy to hear from me," Jonah pouted pulling out a knife from his pocket and fiddling with it in his hand. "But I'm sure that'll change when you hear who I'm accompanied by."

"Who do you have Jonah?" Mike questioned, while he was trying to sound professional, Kennedy could hear the panic laced in his tone.

"Your sister," Johan smiled holding the phone out to Kennedy.

"Mike, Mike I'm okay I promise," Kennedy cried into the phone in front of her, trying to sound a brave as possible, not only for her brother's sake but for her own.

"Ken oh god. Don't you dare touch her you asshole," Mike shouted down the phone, making Kennedy flinch slightly, she'd never heard him sound so, angry.

"Oh I wont hurt her, not yet. I'm sending you an address, be here within the hour," Jonah instructed before hanging up the phone. Jonah then typed the address into his phone before placing it back into his pocket. He then turned his attention back to Kennedy, shooting her a very creepy looking smile.

"I've known your brother for a while now, a long while actually. I guess you could say we have a complicated relationship," a strange look came over his eyes when he said that, it was almost pain and despite everything Kennedy almost felt bad for him. "Your brother took away from me the only person I've ever loved. My son, and for that I'm going to do something far worse to him,"

"What are you going to do to me?" Kennedy questioned, looking up at him. She knew she was meant to hate this man he was going to kill her and she knew that he was a very horrible person. But she felt like she understood him in a very strange sense, he was just in pain and expressing it very very badly.

"All in good time, and I'm sorry by the way that your involved in all of this but its how it has to be," Jonah told her before leaving the room leaving her in complete darkness with nothing but her thoughts.

As bad as Kennedy felt bad for Jonah, he was obviously an evil man and she was sure that her brother was probably quite justified in killing his son. But Kennedy wasn't going to die willingly, she had accepted she probably would but she'd go down fighting. Jonah came back to the room he was keeping Kennedy in around half an hour later. Without saying anything he unchained her from the wall behind her and pulled her out of the room and into a far bigger one. Kennedy took in her surrounding and noticed she was in some kind of warehouse and from the disgusting state of it, it was clearly abandoned. She felt her heart drop as she saw her brother standing in front of her, he looked like shit. Mike's face looked petrified, she'd never seen him so scared. He still kept his stance calm and professional, she could tell he was ready for a fight and she expected one. She saw most of the tension in her brother's face relax as he saw her and she sent him a reassuring nod to let him know that she was okay. Jonah pushed Kennedy to the floor and she fell to her knees, wincing at the slight pain the followed.

"What do you want Jonah? Me, let her go and you can have me," Mike said cautiously closing the space between him and his sister.

"Oh no, that'd be far to easy," Jonah smiled "I want to see you suffer." Jonah moved closer to Kennedy and pulling her long blonde hair back from her shoulder exposing her neck. "You see I've had a lot of time to think about how I could hurt you more than you hurt me. What could I possibly do to make suffer the way I did. But then I remember who I was, what I could do, and I came up with the perfect plan. How fun would it be to watch your own sister kill you?" Jonah laughed at that, still looking intently at Kennedy's neck. All the worry on Mike's face came flooding back, and Kennedy looked back at her brother finally feeling the tears spill from her eyes. Kennedy then cried out in pain as Jonah plunged a syringe into her neck and instantly panicked as she felt the burning hot liquid enter her body. Michael tried to run up to his sister but the hands of two men held him back. Pain consumed Kennedy's body and she filled the room with her screams, but as quickly as the pain came it stopped almost instantly.

"That's a serum I've been working on for a while, specifically for this. You see the Hydra scientists were really onto something with the super solider serum but as all thing it needed a little improvement. I knew none of this was going to work unless we gave Kennedy here a little advantage. So now, she has her," Jonah was then cut of by two arrows flying through the air and embedding themselves in the eyes of the two people holding Michael back.

And just like that the room erupted into complete chaos.
