Kim sighed and looked at her watch, the taxi should be here by now. She looked around. She had everything packed. All her clothes, all her memories. It wasn't that she didn't like Rwanda; she just didn't like it as much as she thought she would. It was hard. The things that she had seen… and then there was Andrew. He didn't seem to have time for her anymore, and when they did have time together, all they ever seemed to do was argue, argue over stupid things. Grace was one of them. Kim had found her, abandoned in an alleyway, and she couldn't just leaver her. Andrew just didn't seem to understand. She sat down at the small desk in the corner of the room and pulled out a sheet of paper and an envelope. As she wrote the letter, she wiped a tear from her eye. She loved Andrew, she really did, but she had to let him go, she knew that it wasn't going to work out between them. She set down the pen, and looked at Grace. She was sound asleep. She was beautiful, and the best thing since Andrew that had happened to her. She stirred in her sheep and slowly opened her big, brown eyes, looking up at Kim. 'Shhhhhh', she ran her finger gently on Grace's cheek, and she slowly closed her eyes and fell to sleep again. As Kim looked up, she saw the Taxi pull up outside. She looked at her watch, Andrew would be home soon. Kim took one last look at the letter that she had written before placing it in an envelope and setting it on the table. 'This is it Grace, we're going home' Kim picked up her suitcase and passed it through the door to the waiting taxi driver. With one last glance around the bungalow she picked Grace up and left the bungalow, and Andrew, for good. She loved him, she always did, but he obviously no longer loved her.

'Kim?' Andrew called out as he walked slowly through the house, 'Kim?' It had been a busy few months for him. He had recently been promoted, he felt bad for neglecting Kim, but it meant a lot to him that he was here in Rwanda, making a real difference. Andrew was by now back in the living room, he stood with his arms on his hips, where was she? He pulled his phone out of his pocket and quickly dialled Kim's number. It was ringing, ringing on the table behind him, a letter sat next to it; a letter with his name on, he opened the envelope, and read the note inside…

Andrew,

I can't do this anymore. When we came to Rwanda, you promised me that things would be different, but they're not. All that we ever seem to do is argue, and I think that it's for the best that I leave with Grace.

I'm so sorry Andrew, and I hope you'll forgive me one day. Kim x

He re read the letter, ran his finger over her words, those few words, did he not mean anything to her? He collapsed on the bed. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't just up and leave, he had responsibilities now. He wasn't sure that she wanted him to. He knew that Kim had found life in Rwanda hard, he had at first, but he had no idea that she felt this way. He should have stopped it, paid her more attention.

Andrew began to cry. He loved her, he always did, but she obviously no longer loved him.

Kim stood in the airport departure lounge and rooted around in her bag for some spare change to use the pay phone. She put the coins into the phone and dialled a familiar phone number. 'Waterloo Road Comp, how can I help?'

'Can I speak to Jack Rimmer please?'

'You'll have a hard job of that love, he's in Dubai, been gone for over a year now'

'A year? Why? What happened?'

'I don't know love, only been here a few months, I can pass you over to the new head'

'Sure'

'OK, I'll put you through to Miss Mason, who's calling?'

'Kim Campbell'
