Chapter 1

Mr. D. walks into his office and sees a man with gray hair and a woman with blue hair sitting in front of his desk.

"Mr. Dickinson. Thank you for seeing us," The man says.

"Did you think I was going to refuse old friends?" Mr. D. asks. "So what can I do for you?"

"We want to see our son," The woman says.

"Ana. You know that is not allowed until he is 18 unless his grandfather gives consent and you know as well as I do that he won't," Mr. D. says.

"Stanley, isn't there a loophole that says if he wants to see us he can," The man says.

"Vaska, I don't know if he would," Mr. D. says.

"We have to try," Vaska says.

"I can see what I can do," Mr. D. says.

"Thank you," Ana says.

At the team's hotel room

Kenny is sitting on the couch typing on his laptop while the others are out on the boucany, smoking.

"Should we be doing this?" Max asks.

"Mr. D. said we couldn't smoke in the hotel room. Does this look like in the hotel room?" Ray asks.

"I can't believe he emptied the mini bar," Tyson says.

"We'll get some alcohol later," Kai says.

Ray finishes his cigarette.

He takes Kai's out of his mouth.

"Hey," Kai says.

After taking a puff, Ray says, "I've smoked all of mine."

"You sure went through those fast," Tyson says.

"What's your point?" Ray asks then takes another puff.

"Nerves about something?" Kai asks.

Ray exhales then says, "The Tigers are coming here next week."

"So?" Tyson asks.

"So they don't know I do this stuff," Ray says.

"You want us to bring it down?" Kai asks.

"No. They'll find out sooner or later," Ray says. "I just wished it was later."

"We could stop when they're here," Kai says.

Ray hugs Kai from behind.

"Thanks but no thanks," Ray says.

"Want another cigarette?" Kai asks.

"Please," Ray says.

Kai pulls out a cigarette pack out of his pocket and hands a cigarette to Ray.

Ray smiles as he takes is then lights it up and takes a puff.

Someone knocks on the front door.

"I'll get it," Kai says putting his pack of cigarettes back in his pocket.

He walks back into the living room and sees that Kenny is asleep over his laptop.

He needs to get a girlfriend, Kai thinks walking to the door. Or boyfriend. Whichever. Just something to get him away from his computer.

Kai opens the door and Mr. D. is on the other side.

"Hello Kai," Mr. D. says. "What have I told you about smoking in the room?"

"We're not," Kai says. "We're smoking on the boucany."

"Next room, no boucany," Mr. D. says.

"Fine," Kai says. "Is that all?"

"No," Mr. D. says. "May I come in?"

"Sure," Kai says.

Mr. D. walks in and Kai closes the door behind him.

Mr. D. sees Kenny sleeping on the couch.

"He was putting in some data from this morning's matches," Kai says. "Guess he didn't get enough sleep last night."

Kai sits next to Kenny as Mr. D. ops for a chair.

"So what is this about?" Kai asks.

Before Mr. D. can answer, Tyson and Max walk into the room.

"Hey Mr. D." Tyson says. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to talk to Kai privately," Mr. D. says.

"We'll be out of your hair in a minute," Tyson says. "Kai, Ray needs another cigarette."

"Why don't you give him one of yours?" Kai asks.

"We smoked all our pack," Tyson says.

"Fine," Kai asks and pulls his pack out of his pocket. "Max, can you put Kenny to bed?"

"Sure," Max says and pulls Kenny to his feet.

Kai hands his cigarettes to Tyson.

"Don't nix any," Kai says.

"Nix?" Tyson asks raising an eyebrow.

"Steal," Kai says.

"Oh," Tyson says walking towards to the boucany door. "Why didn't you just say that?"

Once both Tyson and Max with Kenny in tow left the room, Kai turns back to Mr. D.

"What were you going to say?" Kai asks.

"There are people who want to meet you," Mr. D. says.

"Who are they?" Kai asks.

"Your parents," Mr. D. says.
