A/n: I wrote this based off a request (that's what I took it as anyway) from Kitty2211. The drabble itself though was partially inspired by the song I'm Gonna (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers. Enjoy :)

Five-Hundred Miles by RW Grimm
How many miles had he walked during his journey?
How much distance had he put between himself and his old home, his old life?
How far had he pushed himself away from her?
Too many to count.
Too many miles separated Winry from him, too many obstacles kept them apart.
But even with the opposing forces he managed to come back to her, needing repairs on his arm because of those opposing forces.
He didn't care what the circumstances were, he was just happy he'd get to see her beautiful face and smile once more.
And he would relish every moment of it, knowing how short and precious time was.
He wanted to embrace her, kiss her, tell her they'd never part.
But then he'd been lieing, both to himself and to her.
The best thing for him to do was to not let her think he cared so much for her, it would only make it more painful when he left.
He would leave soon, he had to, for Al.
But no matter where he was, he'd come back to her eventually.
He would walk five-hundred miles, hell, he'd walk five-hundred more, just to see her.
Even if he'd go non-stop, and collapse down at her door…
he'd be happy…
because he'd see that wonderful smile once more.
