Raven set the still figure on the metal table. It lay there, seemingly lifeless. Raven felt an unexpected pang of joy.
/flashback/ Why so QUITE Slade? AFRAID!? Are you scared I m going to GET you! Well you should be! Because I will! For Robin! Raven thrust a heavy monitor towards Slade with her powers.
Slade easily avoided the speeding object, sending it crashing into the wall behind him. Shards of glass flew through the air. Raven gathered them in the air and directed them towards Slades approaching figure. He pulled his steel staff from his belt with break-neck speed and spun it around, deflecting the shards and sending them spinning off into the distance. He was advancing upon Raven fast. She jumped into the air and tried to flee before he could reach her.
She felt a hand grasp her ankle and swing her around. She gasped as her head met the pavement and a dull ring sounded around the room. With the wind blown out of her she gulped down air trying to regain composure. The room span and stars bloomed before her eyes. She coughed and felt a trickle of blood run down her chin.
Her vision flickered and she saw Slade loom over her. Then darkness.
Raven awoke only moments later. She gasped and bolted upward. Slade was crouched beside her with a hand cupping her head. He looked concerned of all things. Raven took advantage to the strange show of sympathy and shot her hand out, popping him under the chin. Slade fell backward with the force of her blow and tried to roll and stand up to fight. Before he managed to stand Raven kicked him in the head, then the side, over and over again, attacking with her powers as well.
Slade fought but was soon overwhelmed with the hatred that coursed through Ravens body, driving her to attack with such ferocity. His body became a motionless heap on the ground. Raven smiled. /End flashback/
Raven recalled earlier that day. Slade and Raven had come face to face. And Raven had won.
She had been determined to capture Slade and force him to release Robin. He had captured Robin yet again. God only knew the terrible things the madman was putting Robin through. She was going to kill him. She was going to watch him die. But she was going to unmask the evil man first.
Slades unconscious form was pitiful yet different somehow. Smaller maybe. Raven pondered for a few seconds and then pushed the thoughts out of her mind, remembering why she was here.
For Robin. She barely whispered as she slide her hand under his face mask. Raven held her breath as she pulled it off. She gasped. She couldn't comprehend what her eyes were showing her. It could not be...Long Jet-Black hair fell over his eyes with his pale skin somehow even paler.
Robin she gasped as tears leaped to her eyes.
