Suppose Danica and Triste were close friends (long story). Suppose that Adelina shot her in a fatal location and Danica was dying. Suppose Triste saved her by getting Siete to change her. Suppose Danica was a vampire.

Chapter 1
Zane could hardly comprehend what had just happened. He paced in the background as the doctors tended to his dying wife, not caring that his shirt was saturated with blood from Danica's wound.
"Sir. Please, for the sake of us all, go to bed. You're a wreck."
Zane affixed his garnet eyes on the guard's worried face, giving him a scalding glare.
"I'm sorry my lord. Forgive me."
Zane walked toward the avian and serpiente doctors, busy concocting foul looking medicine. "How is she?" he asked in a small voice, afraid of what the answers would be. The avian doctors ignored him and continued on with their work, but one serpiente doctor stopped momentarily to shake his head.
"DAMN IT. SAVE HER , IT'S YOUR JOB!" Zane growled in rage.
"Sir, we are doing our best. She's not responding to any of our treatments. I'm afraid the arrow hit a very precarious area of her abdomen."
"Here sir, drink this. It may calm your nerves."
Unbeknown to Zane, the drink was drugged, but before he got a chance to drink it down, the twin mahogany doors to Danica's suite slammed open. A stately woman stormed in, urgent panic displayed on her face.
"How is she?" she asked.
No one answered her, they just stared at her in shock.
"Move." She spoke commandingly, but no one budged.
"Who are you? You have no right to be here." Zane said indignantly.
A pair of impossibly green eyes stared back at him incredulously.
"Do you want your wife to live or not? Shifter, you have no idea who your dealing with. Either order your doctors out or I will. By force."
Zane resigned. He had no idea what made him so acquiescent.
"Doctors, Guards. Please. Out."
He expected at least some protest from the avian doctors, but surprisingly they were complying too. The woman walked swiftly to Danica's side. She positioned a flawless hand above Danica's heart. A impatient grumble came a few seconds later. "Come on Danica, LIVE!" A sigh of despair crumbled Zane's delicately constructed wall of hope. The woman looked up at him again. She spoke in a defeated tone, "I cannot save her, she is too far gone, but I know someone who can, but at a price."
"Then get them! What price is worse than death?" Zane spoke impatiently.
"Naïve, shifter. But I would expect that from someone as young as you." the woman replied." The woman's eyes stared off into space, affixing on something distant. Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere. He shared the same green eyes, the woman did. "Long time no see, Triste. What does my impossibly proud sister need of me." Something unspoken exchanged between the two.
"Fine, I will change her. Only because she will be a strong one, no doubt. To rival even maybe Renaei." As the man walked toward Danica, Zane felt a wave of drowsiness overcome him. The last thing he saw before he drifted to sleep were the woman, Triste's green eyes."
