yada, yada, yada...
A/N: I just came by w/ the idea of what everyone's thinking in that one night. The story takes place at Christmas Eve in the Gryffindor Common Room.
One Night
'.though vampires are very dangerous creatures, humans could protect themselves through garlic, crosses and-'
That's enough reading for tonight. Oh dear, it's nearly 10:00. I've been reading for hours. But I have to finish by tomorrow evening. Even if it is Christmas.
Humph, there's Harry and Ron. I bet they haven't even started.
"Hey there Hermione."
"Hi Harry."
"Reading again, Hermione?"
"Hello, there Ron. And yes, I've been reading. You know, you should at least start working on your paper." Typical Ron.
"Well, at least I'm trying to live my life. You just sit around with a book under your nose."
"Oh, living your life is when you go downstairs and feast on everything those poor House Elves give you?" I bet he doesn't even say thanks.
"Well it's better than being a bookworm all my life. At least I-"
"Guys, just stop it!" Why did Harry stop it? "It's Christmas."
He's right. "Harry you're right. Sorry Ron."
"I'm sorry too, Hermione."
Ugh, sometimes I could just hate Ron. He's lazy, pathetic and he doesn't think before he acts. Now, he's just looking outside the window. He should do better with his schoolwork or else his future will go down the drain.
I don't want him to have that kind of life. He's a good guy and if he doesn't do better his grades will suffer which will lead to getting a poor job that would have a low pay and his life will just fall apart..
He's a really sweet guy. He's also funny and caring and such a good friend.
Hmm, friend. That's all he's going to see me. He's never going to say he wants to be more. I could just see it: year after year of being friends. We're probably going to get married to other people and have kids, him being a godfather of course; but after all that, we're still going to stay friends. Nothing more.
But at times I could just..and say..But I can't do it. Not now, not ever.
That's it. I can't be here now. I have to go to bed. That's right, go up the corridors, get ready and then go to sleep.
"Hermione! You forgot something."
Oh, it's Ron. He's got my book.
"Here's your book."
"Thanks." Hey, a mistletoe. Who put that up there?
"Hermione, do you see what I see?"
"Mm-hmm. I bet Fred and George put that up there."
"Well, I think they're hiding someplace peeking at us to see if we really do it."
"Do what?"
"You know, kiss."
"Oh." Breathe, Hermione, breathe. I think I'm turning red.
"Hermione?"
"Yes?" He has really nice eyes. How come I've never noticed them before?
"Since both of them would probably tease me and it would sort of defeat the purpose of it.what I'm trying to say is why do we have to give up a Christmas tradition?" I look around. Harry's not here anymore. Nobody's here.
"True, very true. Why not? I mean it's only going to last a few seconds." If only it could last forever.
"Right. So let's do this?" He's leaning. He seems so tall now. Maybe this is a mistake, maybe I should just.
It's over. I cannot believe it's over. Time moved so slowly yet it wasn't enough. I wish I could do it over again. I have never felt like this.
I think I'm walking but it's like I'm floating.
"Hermione?"
"Yes Ron?"
"Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas to you too. And Ron?"
"Yes?"
I love you. "Good Night"
