Seize the Day

Seize the Day, putting as little trust as possible in the future

It was done. He finished it. The Story of Ahiru, the innocent, helpful little duck was completed and it had cost him dearly. But no more of that, the newly arisen conflict of his new story had been solved and Ahiru was to become a human once more. All he had to do was wait.

The boy, Fakir, who had fallen in love with a mere duck smiled gently, a rare thing these days. With steepled hands he leaned forward surveying his work. He realized now that stories were not a simple thing; stories by nature were cruel and intricate. The tale in front of him had taken a disastrous turn towards the end. Out of his control, the story resulted in four burnt houses, broken arm, and a very annoyed duck.

But it was all right, because the boy who wrote the story fixed the problems; resulting in the story taking a new turn, one towards a happier ending.

His love, Ahiru, would finally, finally, get the ending she deserved. She would be human, she would be able to speak, and she would be able to dance once more.

The hard banging on the door startled him. He jumped out of his seat, surprised.

What idiot would–?

But the young man did not have time to complete his thought. An orange haired girl yanked the door open wearing little more than a large shirt. Fakir's shirt.

"Ahiru?" The boy said, bemused. He hadn't expected the orange haired girl for quite some time. Ahiru ran towards Fakir, hugging him tightly.

"Fakir! Fakir! Fakir! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Ahiru wept, sobbing through her happy tears.

Fakir gave one of his rare smiles.

"Idiot. Don't cry. You're home," he whispered softly.

He could not wait to dance with her again.

A/N: Carpe Diem also known as 'seize the day'. It means live your life, you're in charge of it. Sorry for the poor grammar.
