It seemed as if Hotch had been waiting all of his life for this moment. It was the moment he was going to propose to Emily Prentiss. He still didn't understand why he wasn't nervous. Maybe it was because he knew that she was the one for him. Maybe it was because all he could focus on was her and the way she looked in the tight red dress she had on. Whatever it was he was thankful for. He didn't need his hands to get all sweaty as he proposed marriage to the woman who has had his heart for the last four years. He realized now that she had captured his heart the first day she walked into the BAU even though he was married. Right now he didn't even care about that. All that mattered was that he got the point across on how much he loved her and how much he was in love with her.
"Aaron why do you look like you are thinking about something deep?" Prentiss asked as she saw that her boyfriend's mind was somewhere else.
Hotch shook his head and came back to the present. He smiled at Prentiss and took her hand in his. He loved the way her hand fit in his. It was like it was a sign on how they are meant to be together.
"It looked like that because I was Sweetie. I love you Emily Prentiss. I have been waiting all of my life it seems for you to come in it and show me what I was missing. I was just thinking about how I think you stole my heart the first time I saw you when you joined the BAU even though I was married. It just took me a while to realize that. You have made my life so much happier than I ever thought it would be. It's like you are a drug but yet I'm the only one addicted to you which is a good thing because if anyone else was I would have to kick their asses. I love you more than my own life Emily. Will you marry me?"
Prentiss felt tears fill her eyes as she listened to Hotch talk. The way he proposed brought more tears to her eyes. Yes, they had been together for four years and she knew that they would eventually probably get married but she never expected it this soon. She knew what he answer would be though.
Hotch let a smile show on his face when he Prentiss lifted his hand to her mouth. He loved the way her lips felt on his skin. He rubbed his thumb around her cheek and smiled when he heard her slight gasp.
"I love you Aaron. I have since I joined the BAU. I have been waiting all my life just for this moment. Yes! Yes, I will marry you." Prentiss said as she looked into Hotch's eyes.
Hotch stood up and let out a shout of joy before he pulled her out of her seat and into his arms and said loudly "She just agreed to be my wife!"
Prentiss chuckled but it was abruptly cut off when Hotch's mouth descended and captured hers in a loving but intense kiss. She could still hear the other people in the restaurant clapping for them but she didn't care. All that mattered now was how his lips felt on hers. She knew the kiss was different but yet it was the same.
