Disclaimer: I don't own them. Saban does.
Summary: It's time for the older turbo rangers to pass on their legacy. Kat muses on how it feels and what they will all do next.
Kat wondered how the rest of them all felt about leaving the team. Personally, she wasn't sure how to feel. Part of her was sad. She hadn't been on the team as long as Adam or Tommy so she hadn't gotten as fed up of it as she knew Tommy was getting. Part of her, however, was a little relieved. She'd felt a little like being a Power Ranger was holding them all back. She would miss Tanya, quite surprisingly. When she had first met the girl, she hadn't had a clue that they would end up becoming such good friends. Kat wasn't generally the type to HAVE close friends. But somehow, whether it was the having Tanya live with her for a while or the being rangers together, she had gotten quite fond of the outgoing girl.
Rocky, of course, had left a while before. Kat knew he and Adam had a plan to put together a dojo and teach martial arts. She had a feeling they would try to convince Jason to join them, if they could. Jason was an excessively good teacher when it came to the styles he loved best. She hadn't been around when he'd taught Kimberly and Billy how to fight but the fact that they could do it so well was a tribute to him. Most of her own abilities had come from the suit, at least when she had been a ninja ranger.
Tanya seemed to have a good niche for herself as a radio jockey. Kat knew she wouldn't stick with it forever but she seemed happy for now. She had a feeling that, quite soon, the yellow would be digging a particular business card out of her bag and calling up the record executive who had wanted her before. At the time, she had declined becoming a music star because of the rangers but, since she was no longer a ranger, now there was no excuse to not follow her dream.
Kat wasn't quite sure WHAT Tommy would end up doing. Strange that they'd never really talked about it, for all that they were going out. Most couples would have planned for the future but somehow it had never come up. She suspected that was because they both knew the truth, deep down. And deep down, they both knew that she and Tommy didn't have a future together, not as a couple. They made amazing friends but as a couple they were sub-par. Tommy was still very much in love with Kim and she realized she'd been a little too influenced by the leftover emotions from Rita's spell to have everything really last. Somehow she had run out of emotion. Still, she did care about him. She doubted he would stick with the race car driving for long. The driving was all about the adrenaline and, with the powers gone, she knew he wouldn't have the cravings anymore.
She had a feeling that she would be heading off herself, soon. This whole dancing thing was starting to get interesting and she had sent out inquiries to a few different institutions with the idea of following it and seeing where it led. She had a good feeling that things would work out with it. Still, she wondered if the dancing for her was like the driving for Tommy. Was it something that would fade as she got farther from being a ranger? Without the sharpness that came from her powers, would she even be as good anymore?
There were so many questions, for all of them. There was so much uncertainty. None of them knew where they were heading. They were trying with all their hearts but they didn't know if the directions they were headed in would last. Already they had fractured and gone their separate ways, without the duty to hold them together. Kat had never felt so alone in Angel Grove, not since she had first come here. And she was suddenly scared to give it all up, to give the one place she had most belonged in up to somebody else. She was suddenly alone. And she didn't know how to feel.
