Jaded

It was a hot summer night in Jasper, and it had been at least a few months since the Autobots had left Earth. Jack knew that all too well, that Arcee had left, and he missed her, even when he didn't want to admit it.
Those thoughts went through his mind as he went on a run, as he usually did when he needed to clear his head. As he slowed down and had to catch his breath, a voice said "Jack, is that you?"
Jack lifted his head and looked to see Sierra, who blinked and let a smile paint her face. "S-Sierra, what are you doing here?"
Sierra shifted in her stance and looked down, almost taken aback from that question. "I usually take walks near the park from time to time- you?"
"Oh, I'm just-on a run – trying to clear my head." Jack replied, wiping the sweat from his brow.
"Okay. I guess I just passed on by, as they say." Sierra let a short laugh before looking up at the sky, the hues of sunset orange and yellow reflecting in her eyes.
"I guess so." Jack answered after a long period of jaded silence, silence that always seemed to be between them.
