Author's Notes: I was reading some fanfiction at 4 in the morning. Suddenly had this idea looking outside my window, and came up with this. If I get enough reviews, then maybe I'll write more. Hope you enjoy. Ratings may go up in the future depending on...well, everything. :D

Palm Tree

According to Edward Elric, summer was pure evil.

Screw it, summer's even worse than hell. Hell would probably be even cooler than Amestris.

He steadied himself on the branch, protected from the suns radiation by the thin-leafed palm tree.

Wait, thin? Aren't palm leaves normally wide?

Edward looked up and slid down a bit, aghast, "...E-E-Envy!"

The homunculus merely smirked and replied, "Heya, Fullmetal shrimp. Nice to know you can still manage to say my name through all that stuttering," he leaned down a bit holding out his hand and caught Ed's hair-tie just as he leaped back with a fully transmuted blade. 'Good balance, and fair speed,' Envy thought, 'but not fast enough.'

Ed blinked, realizing the fatal mistake in that simple action. It took him three whole seconds to notice that Envy was behind him, a right arm interlocking with his own along with a left foot setting his in place. He was trapped.

"Shit!"

"Don't move, pipsqueak. If you do, we're both gonna fall, and it's a good height from here. Unlike you, I won't die so easily. Remember that."

Silence. Envy had one the argument.

He began to slide his hand down, and Edward shouted in protest, "E-Envy! What do you think you're doing! Cut it out!"

"No."

"Stop it!"

"In your dreams. But then, you're most likely dreaming of naughty things, shrimp."

"E-N-V--! SHIT!"

For the second time that day, Edward cursed. He fell from the tree, and amazingly survived with a few bruises. As soon as the pain subsided a bit, he immediately glanced at the location where his former situation took place, "Envy?"

He stared wide-eyed.

There was Envy on the branch, facing the same direction with a pained expression, doing a split.
