Inevitability

The people in the red uniforms.
Are always first dead.
Never are they mourned when shot in the head.
Taking orders from Kirk.
Transported to a planet by beam.
To where vicious enemies lurk.
No safe distance in between.
Shot usually, but they are killed in many ways.
Without a trace sometimes they do disappear.
Declared dead on the very first day.
But those who wear blue, have little to fear.
The Captain unknowingly sends them to their deaths.
It is inevitable that the red shirts must die.
Because this is the original starship, the Enterprise.
