Prologue
Echizen Ryoma's POV
It all happened so fast. I remembered Kevin and I just came back to Japan, going back to our home, back to our family. We were just inside a cab, on the way there.
"Finally..! I can't believe we're finally going home!" Kevin said excitedly with a big grin on his face. "Been a long time now, hasn't it?"
"Not really…" I said, uninterested. Kevin smirked.
"Come on! You missed them! I just know it!" he gave me a nudge. "You're just embarrassed to say your own feelings!"
He laughed, shaking his head. Kevin's always been so awfully noisy. I sometimes wished he'd shut up.
"I just can't wait to see their faces when we show up!" he squealed like a girl while I winced at the sound of his voice. Typical Kevin…
Yes, Kevin and I were just sitting at the back of the car, waiting to get to our destination while he acts like a shoujo manga girl who's been kissed by her prince. Nothing was wrong. Nothing went wrong. Everything had been perfectly fine.
"You know, I do think that we're going a bit too fast…" Kevin said worriedly and then turned his head, facing my direction. "Don't you think so too, Ryoma?"
"Guess so…" I shrugged, looking outside the window.
"You're no use…" Kevin sighed. "We might die of a car accident and you're so calm about it?"
I rolled my eyes. Just what the heck is on his mind right now?
"It's all in your head, Kevin. You're thinking too much…" I said to him.
"Fine…" I heard him groan.
"Che... Car accidents… As if…" I muttered.
Yes, we were safely in the car and Kevin told me about the car going too fast… Now I remember… But I shrugged that off. I didn't take what he said so seriously, of course. That's because he's worrying over nothing. But what happened after that..?
"Ryoma, I really do think the car is going too fast…" he said in a serious tone.
"Yeah… I think so too…" I replied. The car IS going too fast… And it was already passed the speed limit. Kevin slightly stood up and leaned.
"Hey, Mister..! Can you please- HEY, WATCH OUT!" Kevin suddenly shouted in panic. It made my ears hurt. Kevin fell back hard on his car seat and winced in pain.
The car suddenly went out of control.
"What the-"
I leaned over a bit and saw a bus headed right for us.
"Ryoma..!" Kevin called out to me, pulled me down, and wrapped his arms around me in a tight embrace from behind. I couldn't see anything that was happening right now. All I heard was tires screeching, a loud crash, and the sound of glass shattering. And the last thing I heard was just the sound of Kevin's voice as I felt a hard hit fell on me.
"Shit!"
And everything just went dark…
There was a car accident. Kevin told me about it before it even happened and I didn't listen. I realize I should have and now I'm practically lying on my death bed. Great…
"Hey, do you think he'll come to?" A man's voice said.
"He's still alive. Of course, he will." Another voice of a man said but deeper.
Those voices were unfamiliar. Nobody whom I knew owns them.
Where am I? Am I still alive?
"Hey! Look! I think he's coming to!"
"Yeah, you're right!"
I slowly opened my eyes. I found myself lying on a big fancy bed and saw two men wearing weird clothes, whom obviously are older than I am, looking at me. The first one had tanned skin, purple eyes, and pinkish red hair while the other was a baldy and had dark complexion and gray eyes.
"Hey… You okay..? You were badly hurt when we saw you… You even slept for 2 days… What happened?" The bald one asked me.
2 days..? I've been asleep for 2 days?
"I'm fine… It's just... Where am I..?" I asked in a strained voice. I felt pain coming from my body. Obviously from the accident that happened just not long ago.
"Why, you're in the prince's castle!" the redhead answered cheerfully.
"Castle..?" I raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know there was a castle in Japan…"
"Japan? What are you talking about?" the redhead gave me a confused look.
"Wait… Aren't I in Japan?" I asked.
"He's probably not from around here" the baldy said to the redhead.
Not from around here? What does he mean by that?
"Hey, I'm supposed to be going home right now. A car accident happened and I guess I'm probably in the hospital dreaming."
"Too bad, kid, but you aren't dreaming." the redhead said.
"Then what am I doing here?" I asked suspiciously, eyeing the two.
"It seems that you have accidentally entered a portal to our world. These portals sometimes appear anywhere out of nowhere and take you to different worlds." The redhead stated.
"Yes. And the prince found you lying outside the castle gardens… He seems to have taken a liking to you." the baldy said with a smile.
"Uh-huh…" I said, nodding slowly.
"Yeah, and he even took you as his fiancée!" the redhead cheered happily.
"Wait… WHAT?!"
"The prince announced his royal engagement a day after he found you. The king's overjoyed to hear the news! He can't wait till you and the prince get married! You'll be the princess of our kingdom!" the redhead gave me a big toothy grin.
"This is nothing to be smiling about! I'm a guy! I can't be married to someone who's the same gender as me! It's illegal!" I shouted angrily. The two looked surprised.
"Marriage between the two people with the same sex probably isn't allowed in his world…" I heard the baldy whisper to the redhead.
"Heh… I see…" the redhead replied, nodding, and then turned to me.
"Don't worry! In this world, it is legal and this is getting married to the prince we're talking about! Everyone's dying to be in your place!" the redhead said dreamily. The baldy suddenly cleared his throat which caught the redhead's attention.
"Oh, right! I forgot..!" the redhead pounded his right fist on the palm of his left hand. "As the prince's fiancée, you must prepare for the wedding. It'll be on the next month!"
I paled when I heard the day of the wedding. I'm going to be married! At the age of 12!
The baldy noticed how stiff I looked.
"Oi, Bunta… I think we should give him some time for himself…" he whispered to the redhead called Bunta.
"What?" Bunta looked confused. The baldy elbowed him and cocked his head to my direction.
"Oh! Yes!" Bunta scratched the back of his head. "We shall be going now, your highness! If you need our assistance, please do call us!"
They bowed and both left the room and closed the door. I, Echizen Ryoma, age 12, am engaged to the prince of an unknown world.
THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING TO ME!
