So, in this story, Baby Neal is about 9 months old, I guess. I don't have kids, so I don't know for sure when they start talking. I'm just guessing, so please don't judge me too harshly.:P

"…C'mon buddy, just say 'Dada'! It's not hard, watch Daddy…DA – DA."

"Da-Da-David, what're you duh-duh-doing?" Mary-Margaret asked, as she walked into the diner, making the door chime, and over to the booth where her two Prince Charmings were sitting; one in the booth, one in a high-chair.

David scowled at his wife. "You're not helping," he told his wife, as she kissed her son on the head and sat down across from her husband.

Mary-Margaret smirked and turned to the baby. "Hi Neal! Can you say hi to Mama? Say 'hi, Mama!'"

"Afabubba," was the baby's response, as he stuffed a handful of corn in his face; getting some of it in his mouth, and most of it on the floor.

"Any chancer he can say the word 'mop'? Cuz it seems like he needs one wherever he goes," Granny retorted, as she walked up and handed David some more napkins.

"Oh, chill out, Granny!" Ruby scolded, as she walked over after wiping down a nearby table. She knelt down and gave baby Neal a little poke on the nose, which made him giggle. "He's a baby, babies are messy."

"You certainly were," Granny told her. "Especially when you were paper-training."

Ruby rolled her eyes and David snorted back a laugh.

"Hey Neal, can you say 'Red'?" Ruby prompted the baby. "Or how 'bout 'Snow', like your mommy? Can you say 'Snow'?"

"ah-gooba-do," was Neal's reply.

"Any chance he knows another language that isn't English? Weirder things have happened in this town," said Ruby.

"Maybe we should ask Regina if she's been teaching him Elvish," said David, as the door chimed again.

"Teaching who what?" Regina asked, as she walked in and walked over to the group, smiling down at the baby boy in the high chair.

"Oh, Neal! How about 'Regina'?" Mary-Margaret prompted. "Can you say 'Regina'? Or even just 'Gina'?...Or 'Reggie'?"

"If he calls me 'Reggie', you're getting another sleeping curse," Regina warned.

"Oh! That's it!" Mary-Margaret exclaimed. "Neal, can you say 'apple'? Say 'apple'…"

"I think what he wants to say right now is 'Mom, just let me eat'," said Regina.

"OK, you are NOT helping," said Mary-Margaret.

"Frustrating, isn't it?" said David, with a smirk.

It was Mary-Margaret's turn to scowl.

The bell above the door chimed once again, and this time Emma and Hook walked in.

"Hey," Emma greeted, as her pirate-boyfriend smiled down at her baby brother and gave him a little wave, making him giggle. "What's goin' on?"

"Well, we're – "

" – Hook!"

Everybody froze, and stared Neal, then they all stared at Hook.

"…Just trying to get Neal to say his first word," said David, as he glared at Hook.

"…Well, looks like you've done it," said Hook, with a nervous smile. "Congratulations all!"

David chased Hook for eight blocks before Emma caught up to them in her car.
