A/N a little one shot i just wanted to share
"Harry what are you doing its cold!" Ginny complained as he dragged her through the woods at the back of their house.
"Were nearly there just a little further," replied Harry very calmly.
"Harry, as nice as it is you've got a surprise for me this is our wedding night and there are things that I would rather be doing!" Ginny huffed not really angry with Harry just frustrated. Eventually they reached a misty clearing, the trees that surrounded them were ancient and the ground was hard and unforgiving.
"Harry why are we here, and what is that?" Harry had begun rummaging in a small bag.
"This is cinnamon."
"Is it worth asking why you have dragged me into the woods to show me cinnamon?"
"I am going to try and summon a Phoenix!" Immediately Ginny's attention was caught.
"This explains why you never got another owl, you must have known how to do this since the battle, if not before."
"Yep, but I have been waiting so we can do this together." Ginny leaned over, hugged Harry and kissed him on the forehead.
"So what do we have to do?"
"According to Dumbledore you need to make a nest of cinnamon and then set the nest alight using the tail feather of another Phoenix. To start with at least."
"Do you have a Phoenix tail as well then?" asked Ginny.
"Better than that, my wand has a Phoenix tail core." Harry and Ginny sat arranging the cinnamon twigs into a nest working quietly together.
"So when did you ask Dumbledore?" asked Ginny.
"He told me before I left his office after the battle; Ron and Hermione had gone to bed already. He told me it was a closely guarded secret that can only be passed on by someone who already owns a Phoenix. It is ancient and powerful magic, and you can never underestimate the importance of small actions, that's why I waited till tonight."
"It all seems a bit easy to me, but I would never have thought to do it," commented Ginny smiling.
They continued to build the nest, laying the cinnamon bark in layers and weaving them into each other creating the complex shapes that were required. Ginny followed Harry's instructions and eventually the nest was complete, the smells of the woods mingling with sweet odours of the broken and rubbed cinnamon bark.
"Are you ready?" Ginny didn't reply but just nodded. "You need to hold my hand so the Phoenix will be loyal to both of us." Harry and Ginny held hands as Harry pointed his wand at the base of the nest and whispered Infernus. Flames slowly rose from the cinnamon twisting and turning in a most unnatural way, a column of flame began to form, spiralling up into the night sky. The scent of the cinnamon mixed with a new fresher scent. The trees around Harry and Ginny were lit as well as if at day, and the flame began to spread slowly out from the top of the column, spilling down around them. A dome of golden flame surrounded them blocking out the trees and the night sky, the flames were not burning but providing a warm and comforting feeling to their skin. Slowly the dome shrank and began to resolve itself into strange and wonderful shapes. The Cinnamon had all burnt away. Harry was left unsure when exactly this had happened but was unconcerned. The Fiery forms evolved and shifted into ever more complex patterns and shapes, Harry and Ginny looked on in awe at the golden display still clutching each other's hands.
Eventually a pile of ashes was left on the ground; no damage had been done to anything else in the woods. Harry lent forward and brushed away some of the ash revealing a small and ugly bird.
"Now the difficult part," said Harry, "What do we call it?"
