He's sitting against the railing of the canyon. His dad is five feet away, snapping pictures at anything that looks remotely pretty. (It's a shame that beauty was in the eye of the beholder, because to his father, everything is drop dead gorgeous.)

He's gazing out at the valley of rocks before. It's his first time in America since his mother died, and he wasn't looking to enjoy it. He'd much rather be home, thousands of miles away from the piles of glorified rocks. That's right, everything there was a glorified rock.

One of his sisters is two feet away, lying on the bench with a hat over her head. She's sleeping, most likely, which was expected. Nobody, except for his father, had wanted to even go on a vacation. The other, is standing by their father, 'oo'-ing and 'aww'-ing at all of the pictures taken.

He's walking off the beaten path. Who gives a damn if the trail was closed for construction? His family had traveled thousands of miles just for the trail, and he wasn't about to let it go because some bright tape told him to.

The family is trudging through the dirt, searching for the spot. According to their father, it was where he first told his wife that he loved her. This is where it all began, and it is, ironically, off limits.

He's wandering off, drifting farther and farther away from his family. He doesn't know where he's going, but he doesn't really care. His father was being stupid, and he'd rather not be associated with a man like him. He'd much rather be home, with his friends.

He hears his family fawning over a small snake. He hears the snaps of the camera. The calls of the birds, the rush of the river, the scurrying of the mice.

He's absorbed in his own world, and maybe that's why he didn't notice the edge of the cliff.

He hears the calls of his family far off, and he turns his head towards them. They're waving their arms, frantically. He can't understand a word they're yelling, screaming, so he waves them off. He turns around and keeps walking, only this time, his foot doesn't hit the ground.

There's nothing below him, and he's falling.

He hits the ground and he knows it's the end. Nobody, not even him, could have survived that fall. He opens his eyes very slowly and takes a look around.

He can see the birds flying above him. He can see the mice scurrying all around. And he can see her, blocking out the sun.

There she is, all decked out in a black robe. She smiles grimly at him, and almost laughs. 'You're kind of stupid, you know that?' she tells him, 'Look what you've done now.'

She lifts her sword up, positioning it over his forehead. 'Ready?' she asks, not wanting the answer.

He summons every ounce of his strength and smiles. 'As I'll ever be,' he croaks.

A/N: Go ahead. Kill me, because I know you want to. This story sucks hard.

It's about Ichigo dying. I don't know why they're in the Grand Canyon, and I don't care. This was something I threw together in under twenty minutes, after all.

Review, and tell me what you think about it. Please.
