How To Save A Life. Declan/Clare story
After she stole his story, Clare finds Declan to apologize to him, but finds an unexpected mentor. ONEXSHOT
Clare stood outside the music room, trying to gather the strength to open the door. She didn't want to face Declan. Not after she had stolen his story to make herself seem more interesting to her classmates. It ended up back firing when Alli, her best friend found out she was lying and accidentally exposed it in front of Declan. She just new things would be awkward. But Clare, being Clare, put on a brave face and opened the door. She found Declan on his computer tweaking something.
"Hey Prop master…sorry fresh out of stories." he said
"I came here to apologize." Clare said. Declan looked surprised
"What for?"
"For stealing your story. It was stupid and immature and I am really sorry." Clare turned to leave when Declan said
"Why?" Clare whipped her head around
"Why what?"
"Why would you steal my story? I mean what made you?" "it's a long and boring story…..you probably don't care." Clare said
"Look you listen to my story, I wanna hear yours." he said
"Its just girl problems" Clare said
"Look I have a twin sister… I get to hear all her problems all the time." he pulled out a chair next to him "Tell me." Clare sat down next to him.
"My boyfriend just dumped for someone I thought was my friend. She is beautiful, blonde, funny, adventurous and to top it all she is a cheerleader….I just thought if I wasn't so boring, he would regret breaking up with me. But no such luck. He is still with her. She still wins." Clare looked down
"Hey who to say your boring? Huh? Who's to say your not funny or beautiful or any of the other stuff? Clare just because your not a cheerleader and blonde doesn't mean your not cool." Declan said "You'll get over it trust me" Declan said
"Oh yeah? And how would you know? When was the last time you got dumped?" she said
"Last year." Declan said "I got dumped by my ex Sophie. It hurt so bad. And at times I never thought I would get over her. But I did."
"How? How did you?" Clare asked
"I took it one day at a time. I took it slowly. Now I am totally over her. There is no magical wand I can wave and you will be over him." he said and she smiled "Look Clare, you will get over it one day. And when you do, you'll met a guy who is worthy pf someone as terrific as you. I waited and now I have Holly J."
"Yeah, its just, I wish that they weren't everywhere I looked ya know? I mean every hall I turn, every room I enter, every time I go into the Caf. There they are. Its so annoying."
"Well if they bother again, you can always come here. it's a ex, drama free zone." Declan said
"Thanks Declan."
"No prob. We theater kids have to stick together." he smiled and Clare left.
Declan had been so cool about it. Clare thought, and he really loved his girlfriend. Little did Clare know she just met the one person who would help her heal and make KC jealous.
