Summary: Princess Jasmine has a heart to heart with her father.

Princess Jasmine sat in her bedroom humming a song she heard the servants sing as she pet her beloved Rajah. He was purring so loudly, it was relaxing to listen to. When she would stop, Rajah would bump her hand with his head asking for more. She would bring her hand down and stroke his head some more.

"Princess Jasmine?" a servant called.

"Yes?"

"Your father would like a word."

"Bring him in."

Not too long after, she heard the footsteps of her father entering the room. He smiled when he saw his precious daughter. "How is my beautiful daughter?" the sultan asked sitting next to her.

"Fine I suppose," she replied watching Rajah move away from them.

"Tomorrow is a big day for you," the sultan reminded her, "Tomorrow you are to wed Aladdin."

Jasmine smiled at the name Aladdin. Who would have thought that the Princess would fall in love with him? He wasn't royalty. He lived on the streets. But it was his personality that won her over. Who couldn't resist those charming eyes and smiles? He lit Jasmine's heart on fire.

"Of course," Jasmine nodded, "And it shall be wonderful."

The sultan hesitated and then asked, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

Jasmine was stunned by her father. "What?"

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jasmine worried.

"Well, it's just that marriage is a really big step and I'm worried that you and Aladdin may be rushing things," the sultan admitted.

"Father, the law says-"

"I know what the law says," the sultan abruptly interrupted, "However, laws can be changed with my command."

"Father, I've never been so sure of anything in my life. I love Aladdin. He completes me. He's shown me things I've never seen before. He and I have been through so much together, and he saved my life from Jafar!" Jasmine responded to her father, "I love him father and I'm willing to go through whatever life brings us with him. He is the one."

The sultan smiled. "I felt the same way about your mother. She would be so proud of you, her little Jasmine all grown up."

The sultan turned away from Jasmine a moment. As he turned back around, he had tears in his eyes. "Father, what's wrong?" Jasmine panicked.

"I feel like I'm losing what little I have left of my family," the sultan sobbed.

"Father, you aren't going to lose me. I'm not leaving you, I will be right here beside you with my love Aladdin. Just think of it as you are gaining a new family member," Jasmine reassured her father, "Aladdin wants to be your son-in-law. He wants to love you as do I. He never had a father figure in his life. Maybe that can be you."

The sultan wiped away his tears as he hugged his daughter and kissed her on the cheek. "You're right Jasmine, you are right."

There was a knock at the door. "Jasmine?" called Aladdin.

"Just a moment Aladdin," Jasmine called back to him.

"I'll leave you two alone," the sultan said, "I love you Jasmine."

"I love you too father."

The sultan left, and paused when he came up to Aladdin. "Hello sultan," Aladdin bowed.

"Call me father, my boy," the sultan smiled, "You are my family now."
