Ok, I am so sorry for not posting anything in forever xD So distracted by video games and such, but here it is, another one-shot. This came to me while listening to music and, oddly enough, playing Minecraft. So here's another one-shot that is really random and doesn't really make any sense. I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THIS! Thanks everyone! Fave and review please?

I walked slowly, quietly through what was left of Hyrule Field, clutching my side as it ran with blood. The moonlight was barely strong enough to cast a shadow, making it easier on myself.

I wandered aimlessly, letting everything that had happened over the course of the last week sink into my brain. The fire ruthlessly scorched everything in its path, the demons following close behind the destruction.

My friends fell to their wicked blades, crafted in the fires of evil itself. I was the stupidest of them all, attempting to take on the Demon King himself.

My idiocy was the cause of the wound I have now, pouring my precious life out onto the blackened dirt, staining it crimson. I scoff at myself, thinking how ridiculous I must look. I drag the Master Sword behind me, the gift given by the white goddess Hylia.

It didn't do much to hold the Demon King back, but it did give my friends the time to escape to the castle and hope that they were safe there.

Finally my legs give out beneath me. Falling to the dust, I groan as my wound flares in pain again. Looking out at the ruined field, my home, I can't help but wonder, is this the last thing I will ever see? My home, everything I grew up with gone.

As the sun dawns on the 8th day, the legendary bird, the Loftwing flies down towards me. I lift my head wearily as it begins to speak to me.

"Climb atop my back." Its voice is strong and valiant as it patiently waits for me to struggle to my feet.

"Th-the Loftwing?" I stare at it as it lowers its magnificent head to allow me onto its back.

"I have kept a close eye on your battle." It almost seemed to be smiling at me in a smug way.

"You mean you'll take me as your rider?" I smile back, feeling a deep connection with the crimson bird.

"We shall fight together- for eternity!" I climb on his back as his powerful wings take off. I've never felt so free in all my life!

I remember the Goddesses words that the Loftwing will guide our people to the skies.

"Loftwing, will you show our people to the skies? I ask your guidance." I say as I glare at the destruction all around us.

"As long as you fly with me hence-forth." The bird looks back at me with deep meaning in his eyes.

I smile, and say "Yes… I swear it!"

Everything happens so fast after that.

Three dragons circle us, and the Triforce appears in the Master Sword. The Loftwing flies to the castle, where Hylia is waiting.

She takes the sword from me and sends the castle into the sky.

I take the sword and plunge it into the ground, crying "Long live the beautiful land of Hylia!"

I stare at the ground for a moment, realizing that I am closer to death than before.

The Master Sword has become a pillar between heaven and earth, guided by the Loftwing. My friends cry out to me to join them as the rise to the heavens, but I cannot.

I fall to the ground clutching my side again. This time, I will die. But I am not saddened by this. I will miss my friends and the land that will become their home in the skies, but I will not miss this life. I have lived a good life, one of many twists and turns, up and downs.

I am Link, knight of Hylia, and I will live on, forever.
