Hello. I am glad you are here and have some interest in what springs from my mind and transforms itself into the words below. This is the first story I have published under this name on FanFiction. I hope you all enjoy it and maybe, if you are so inclined, you can leave a review. I welcome all.
I stared at him.
I couldn't believe what I had just heard.
I just couldn't.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself. Letting the cool autumn breeze wash over me and ruffle my hair, I relaxed slightly. I opened my eyes to see his apologetic green ones staring back at me. We stared at each other while an awkward silence hung thick in the air.
"I'm…"
"No. Just no."
I put my hand up to stop him. I didn't need his explanation. He looked down at his hands, ringing them nervously. I smiled slightly. It had been so long but I could still guess what he was thinking.
Now what? What will she think of me now? All the secrets I've kept. From her. From everyone. How could she possibly forgive me? Does she even believe a word I said? What am I going to do now?
He looked up at me, his eyes betraying his regret from behind his thick rimmed glasses. Instead of yelling or running away like he expected, I grabbed his hands, stopping their erratic movements.
He looked down at our hands then looked up at me, confusion written all over his face. I smiled at him and his spiky brown hair. Gaining my confidence I grabbed him into a tight hug before he could react and stop me.
Oh god, I had missed him. His expensive, well- tailored suits, his smile, his warmth, and even the awkward shyness that followed his every move. It had been so long and I had missed everything about him. I never thought I would see him again and was so grateful that he was here in my arms again. I was so happy and nothing he could say would ever change that.
"Why Grace? How are so happy?"
He pulled back to look me in the eye. Trying to understand me. We stood there, in each other's arms, just staring at one another. The breeze blew red hair into my face but before I could do anything, he put his hand up a brushed out of my eyes and tucked the long strand behind my ear. I smiled once again and laid my hand softly on his cheek. I felt him lean into my touch and a smile graced his lips as well. We were both smiling when I finally answered.
"Because I love you. Harold. And I missed you."
The End.
