Did you hear about that girl who died?

She went to our school I guess?

Ember Mclain? Never heard of her.

Her house caught fire, and she didn't get out. Nothing but ashes were left I guess.

It was late in September when she died, Ember Mclain. She was a good girl, a straight A student, but she was lonely, didn't have a friend in the world did she? No one really knew her, and when they saw her obituary people only began to notice her and they began to whisper about her. Those whispers lasted maybe a day, and her parents moved to live with her mother's relatives.

Life went on without her, but she had lost the game.

There were rumors of course.

Rumors sprang up that she had been stood up for two weeks, that a group of boys had began asking her out for different days of the week, each time making her wait. She had been getting so little sleep and her grades had begun to slip, she began getting angry. Snapping on everyone.

Then one day she fell asleep after coming home from waiting in the cold September air until nearly five 'o clock at the local movie theater, waiting for someone who would never come.

No one knows how the fire started, some say she started it herself, others say it was a prank pulled by another student.

No matter the cause the fire blazed and engulfed the house, there was nothing left, only ashes and the feeling of tragedy.

Now the boys who were pranking her? They actually felt bad for what they had done. They actually acknowledged that they had done the dead girl wrong. They never told anyone, no they weren't brave enough for that. But they did feel shame, they even went to her service.

But that wasn't the end for our girl Ember Mclain. No, she got her revenge, though her memories were muddied through the veil of death she knew those boys had hell to pay. She was a ghost, she had pyrokinetic abilities.

And with those powers she scorched her name on their walls. The words "REMEMBER ME" had burned themselves into the walls, the ground, carpets, almost anywhere. Remember me

Throughout their lives she tormented them. Until finally they died, and so bored in her eternity she turned to music.

Oh ember you will remember

Ember one thing remains

Oh Ember so warm and tender

You will remember my name
