Icehale: Yup, I actually crossed that line. I'm posting a zombie apocalypse one-shot. Hopefully it doesn't seem to redundant, but I'm pretty sure it is. We'll see though because technically, y'all are the judges of that. Review with your opinion, follow or favorite if you liked, and if you decide not to do any of that, thanks for reading anyway! Thanks for reading this, so here it is.

This is another one of the one-shots from Drifting Away. Again, I'll be posting the one-shots throughout this week. Again, I hope you guys like it!

I do not own Girl Meets World.

It had been nearly two years since Riley had seen anyone familiar.

Everyday brought a new challenge, a new place to move to survive. All she had to do was move constantly to avoid being killed.

Her plan, however, involved not staying in contact with anyone and not staying near hordes of people. Her family and friends had respected Riley's decision, but told her to come back if she ever needed help.

It had been years since she had seen any of them and she didn't know if they were alive or dead. When Riley had gone back to New York to visit, she had immediately noticed there being so signs of life. And when she went to her parents' apartment, all she had seen was blood.

A pang of sadness ran through her heart as she recalled the last time she had seen them. Maya had been crying, something she rarely did. Farkle had a grim look on his face, knowing that none of them would be able to talk her out of it. And then there was Lucas.

Riley hadn't been able to look at him, knowing that she would have seen the look of devastation and grief that he had worn for the last week. But before she had left, he had kissed her one final time as a goodbye. A farewell to their love until the zombies died out.

The zombies had finally all withered and died, effectively ended the apocalypse. Riley was planning on heading back home, knowing that if anyone she knew was alive, they'd all be going back as well.

The city wasn't back to its old bustling atmosphere, but there were people milling on the roads, reuniting with loved ones. Riley smiled wistfully as she watched them, continuing with her walk. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit her and she changed directions, heading towards her old high school, rather than her mother's café.

"Hello?" she called, her voice echoing in the abandoned hallways of Abigail Adams. "Is anyone here?"

It was quiet for a few moments until the footsteps started echoing, walking towards her general area. Tensing a bit, Riley waited, staying on high guard.

A familiar face came into view, causing her face to soften. Pressing her lips together, Riley approached the figure.

"Riley," Lucas breathed, staring at her in sheer joy. "You're alive."

She let out a cry of happiness, grabbing him in a bear hug. He squeezed her just as tightly, both overwhelmed with emotion.

"I can't believe it's you," Riley whispered, a tear falling out of her eye. "I haven't seen you in so long."

"I know," Lucas agreed. He wiped the tear off her cheek, giving her a tender look. "I know."

And when he kissed her, she knew that everything would be okay. Because he was standing right next to her and neither of them would ever leave again.
