Hey,
This is for a couple of challenges. Details are below.
I hadn't realized how long it had been until I ran into her again. She was at the register ringing up my purchase when it finally dawned on me that I hadn't had the chance to catch up with my old friend for the past couple of months.
Of course I was ecstatic to see her there, although she mustn't have noticed who I was judging by her expression. Even after a few tries: mentioning our names, a few past experiences together - she never smiled at me. Not once. It was the weirdest thing I'd ever encountered.
In fact, she actually scowled at me - asked if I was confusing her with someone else because she'd surely remember me with how I looked. I had to double check on that one: what did I end up looking like today? Long, straight hair, gangly limbs, wide smile. She frowned at my silent response and with a heavy heart I left the store. How could she not remember me?
After I walked through my front door I realized one other important thing: in all the pictures we had I was a heck of a lot shorter.
