"Leave me alone, just leave me alone!" Matt screamed, his breathing becoming shallow and rapid. The chains on his pants jingled wildly. One of them fell off and he tripped on it, breaking his fall with his hands. He immediately collapsed from the weight on his wrists, and a sharp pain flowed through his left arm.

He looked behind him, a shadow approached. Matt pushed himself up with his right arm and sprinted away from the light poles. In his confusion, he ran into a fence but in his rush to climb over it, the pain in his wrist proved too much. He tried to pull himself over and doubled over in pain, clutching his wrist.

"Careless little Matthew. Won't you please give me a donation?" A female voice sneered.

"Sadie, why won't you just leave me alone?"

"You haven't died yet. Have you ever wondered why? You're very entertaining and too pathetic to kill early in the game." She mused.

"Oh yeah, so very enjoyable. Every night I run for what could possibly be the last time in my life and yet every night I get to live." Matt spat, throwing her a disgusted glance.

Sadie stared straight at him, making him shift uncomfortably under her gaze. Finally, she said, "Well, you get to live another night. You should consider yourself lucky, though I suppose it would have been more fun if you hadn't invited me into your house."

Matt could hardly speak, "That was only one time."

"Doesn't matter. You invite the head vampire once; you get the whole clan with it. Oh, your parents were a boring kill by the way. It was like killing kittens only much more satisfying." She watched the boy with satisfaction in her eyes. A smile tugged at her lips as Matt's eyes began to drip and he crawled away from her.

"Y..you killed them?" A strong pair of calloused hands picked him up and shoved him forward.

"Should I silence him?" A male voice said quietly.

"No, no, Clint. Like I said, he lives for another day. But we'll do him a favor and end it all tomorrow night. Good night Matty boy."
