(Finn POV)
PB had asked me to come over to test out her new invention. She didn't explain what it was or what it did but still, I agreed. So I was in the lab with PB.
(PB POV)
"Ok, Finn. This is a teleporter. It should transport you to different dimensions. Ok?" I explained.
"Awesome!" Said the young, enthusiastic 14 year old.
"Alright Finney, step into the chamber." I said with a giggle. Finn obliged.
"Huh. This is cool." He said from inside the chamber. I smiled at him and turned on the machine. Then everything started going badly. The machine started shaking violently and smoke was billowing out of it. I looked at the blueprints. I didn't make a teleporter. I made a vaporizer!
" Finn! Get out of there!" I yelled frantically. Finn started pushing at the door, but it wouldn't budge. I ran over and tried to help, but it was jammed.
"PB!" Finn yelled as the lasers started glowing. Finn looked at them with fear in his eyes. Then he looked at me. The face he gave me was the saddest face I have ever seen. It was a look of sorrow and defeat. The lasers then shot at Finn. He screamed in pain. I frantically kept trying to open the chamber. I grabbed a chair and started whacking it against the thick, hard to break glass. Then, with a bright flash, Finn was reduced to ashes.
"Finn!" I yelled. All that was left was his burnt and torn up hat. The chamber opened and I ran inside. I knelt down by the ashes and cried.
"He was so young!" I said in between sobs.
(Jake POV)
I was on the couch playing BMO when PB came into the treehouse. She was sobbing uncontrollably.
"PB! What's wrong?" I asked as I ran up to her. Then she held up something in her hand.
"Finn *sob* h-he *sob* I-I *sob*" I saw that the object in her hand was Finn's hat. "HE'S DEAD!" PB yelled finally and started sobbing harder. Horror filled my body. Finn? Dead? How? Why? So many questions popped into my head.
"H-How?" I asked as I staggered over to the couch and leaned on the arm rest for support. Tears started welling up in my eyes. My bro? My best friend? Dead?
"I-I *sob* I-it w-was *sob* It was an accident! *Sob* The t-teleporter *sob* vaporizer *sob* the *sob* door *sob* jammed! *uncontrollable crying*" She said.
"... Y-You KILLED Finn?" I said, finally letting the tears fall out of my eyes.
"N-No! I-I didn't mean to! *sob* The d-door jammed. It t-turned out the t-teleporter I made w-was a-a vaporizer. *sob* We tried to o-open the d-door but it was jammed! *more uncontrollable crying*
"H-He was *gulp*... vaporized?" I asked with horror in my voice.
"Y-yes! I'm so sorry!" She started crying even harder. I didn't know what to do. My head felt dizzy then the floor came up to meet with my face.
