We all know how God created the world in six days and on the seventh, he rested.
We all know how He created the first man, and named him Adam.
But that is where truth ends and part of the story is erased. God did not create Eve first, but Lilith.
God took the breath of Adam and created a creature of such stunning beauty. The eyes of the being were large and beetle black. It's body was furnished withlong slender limbs. God fell in love with the creature he made from Adam's breath, so he gave the creature His ability to create. He named the creature Lilith.
WhenGod presented Lilith to Adam, Lilith created a lush garden of beauty for Adam. This is the garden that we know of as Eden. However, Adam was repulsed by Lilith's ability to create, so he shunned her and she took refuge in the barren deserts surroundingEden.
God still loved Lilith. He took pity on her. God bore Lilith three children. Their first child, Peace, had fair hair, and skin. His eyes were entirely blue and large like his mother's. He was born with wings of the purest white feathers.
Their second child was named Chaos. She had wild black hair and tan skin. Her eyes were cold black and she had wings like a bat.
Peace and Chaos were constantly fighting, so God created separate realms for them to live in. For Peace, he created the republic of heaven, for all of the deceased souls to take rest in. For Chaos, he created the fiery pits of Hell for her to torture the evil spirits to her cold heart's content.
Lilith's third child was different than Peace and Chaos. His name was Logic. When Logic was born, he knew everything there was to know about the world at that time. When he saw Adam and Eve, he realized that they had no shame because they didn't know shame. He felt bad for them, so he created a tree whose fruit, if eaten, would provide the eater with theinformation of the world. This tree is referred to as the Tree of Knowledge.
Lilith encouraged Logic to create the tree. She wanted to take revenge on Eve for taking over her place as Adam's rightful wife. Lilith lifted her spirit from her body and possessed the creature we know of as the snake. Through the snakeshe enticed Eve to eat from the tree and therefore exposing her to the knowledge of the world.
God was furious with Logic. He did not want to hurt him, after all, Logic didn't know what he was doing wrong. So God took away Logic's immortality.
Before Logic went to live in the world of mortals, Lilith told him to keep track of the knowledge of the world. She told him to not only keep track of the wars of the world, but the tensions and fights that would not ever be recorded by anyone else.
She told him that before he died, he must find a suitable apprentice to keep track after him, because time will live on, but he will not, so another person was needed to record the conflicts of the world.
So Logic lived inour world for ninety years. He obeyed his mother's request and found a suitable person to keep track of history. This process of tracking knowledge has been passed down only one person per generation. As time went by, the keepers of the history of the world came to the exorcists we well know and love today.
And that is the story of how the Bookman came to be.
