The cold stepping stones lying across the forest floor were gently being kicked aside. A young pink hedgehog had been walking alone, she had gone to her nightly stargazing.

She enjoyed watching the beautiful stars shimmer in the sky, painting the sky with tiny white dots, too many to count.

She set her blanket across the mountain top softly, making sure to not make any loud noises in fear she might startle any creatures.

Laying herself across the picnic blanket, she looked up into the sky and put together constellations in her mind. She was deep in thought until she heard a startling crack.

She sat up and turned around, nothing was there. She laid back down again but could not focus her mind.

Not too long after, she heard it again and she turned around. She decided that maybe that night wasn't a very good night for stargazing. Maybe a bear was awake.

She picked up her blanket and sighed, then she started to walk the opposite direction of the cliff. She heard a low grunting noise and picked up her pace.

She seemed pretty far away from the cliff and startling noise as of that moment, so she let her shoulders fall in relief.

Of course, she had thought too soon, as a low growl was heard from the bushes. She didn't scream, but only stood put, incase the ferocious animal was only nothing but her imagination.

The beast did not take long to let itself be known as it stepped out from behind the bushes and looked at the young girl directly.

She only looked at him with a puzzled look. He looked familiar to her, but due to the darkness of the forest, she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

As she opened her mouth to say something, the creature only took a step closer and sniffed her face. He licked her, and left a gritty feeling. He then took a hold of her leg and pulled her along with him.

"H-hey!" She barked at him, stunned at his sudden movements. He was not that fast, but his movements were terrifyingly similar to one's she had seen before.

"Sonic?" She quietly questioned. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked at her.

Once again as she was about to speak, the beast only mumbled something similar to laughter, and set her roughly on the ground.

"You look different."

Sonic awoke with a headache equivalent to one of a hangover, and he shook his head lightly. He stretched his tense muscles throughout his body, and gave out a small yawn.

He tried to move, but a body was only holding him back from doing so. The hedgehog's face lost all color as he slowly turned to look down at the girl across his legs.

"Amy!" He gasped as he looked at the harmed female. He was worried of what may have happened, who could have done such a thing. But he wasn't thinking hard enough, as the specific being who had done this deed, was right there.

Hidden deep within his own flesh.
