Ford's feet crunched the damp forest leaves that were scattered on the ground as he walked along the path. He adjusted the duffel bag strap that was over his shoulder.
Ford pushed passed some stray vines and a small smile slipped onto his lips.
"Hi," he greeted, taking a few steps forward, waving his hand lightly. He removing the duffel bag from over his shoulder and placed it on the ground "It's been a while," he said, rubbing the back of his neck, shifting his gaze elsewhere, a nervous look in his eyes. He took a seat on the grass "How have you been? I'm fine, thanks for asking."
Ford blinked a few times as if he just remembered something "Oh!" he exclaimed "I brought those toffee peanuts you like so much..." he said, unzipping the bag and pulled out the bagged snack, placing it by his side. He had put those in there in case Stan got hungry. To Ford, it also showed some value. As much as he hated the snack, his brother enjoyed it, and he cared about his brother.
Ford continued to dig through the bag "Mabel also suggested I bring this," he said, pulling out a maroon fez, holding it in his six fingered hands. He looked down at the golden symbol on the fez, running his thumb over it as a sad smile slipped on to his lips "Mabel found it when we – Dipper, Mabel, and I – where looking through boxes."
Ford placed the fez on the ground, in front of him "There's a lot I wouldn't mind taking back from what happened to us in the past..." he mumbled, resting his chin in the palm of his hand "Sometimes I think about if we ever switched places, if you would have done the same things I did... Then I just shake my head, thinking to myself 'I'm smart enough to know he would never have done what I did.' Because..." Ford paused momentarily, swallowing a lump that had formed in his throat "If I was the one that got kicked out of the house for destroying something you made, ruining your chances at a good career, you would have been there for me. You wouldn't have been mad at me at all. You would have fought tooth and nail with mom and dad to keep me at the house. When we went our separate ways and I pretty much pushed you out of my life, you would have never done that. You would have tried to call me... See if I was okay... Insist that I stay with you... But... I guess that's not a surprise, is it? After all..."
Ford felt a wave of sadness hit him, invading his eyes and clutching at his heart.
Ford looked up at the cross that marked the place his brother was buried; a sign hung around it that read "Stanley Pines; a loving man, hero, and great brother." Ford felt tears slip from his eyes and roll down his cheeks "You were always the better brother..."
(A/N): This was an AU idea we had when we listened to "Control" by Halsey. Pretty much everything in cannon happens, the only difference is, Ford had to make a deal with Bill. This lead Ford to be possessed by Bill, and Bill pretty much strangled Stan to death. Ford was consumed with guilt and Dipper and Mabel tried to help him through these tough times. Stan's spirit still lingers at the shack, doing what little he can to help his brother get through his death.
