Stay With Me

I told her that my life didn't lend itself to relationships, but if I was honest with myself we were already in one. I couldn't keep away from her. I had to have her in my life.

We spent a beautifully passionate, and tender night together a couple of years ago. I couldn't let go. I don't know when it happened, but I needed her to love me. Every time I saw her I had to fight the urge to pull her to me, some days I lost that battle. Today was one of those days.

I took her back to my apartment and held her close. This last stalker had almost killed her tonight and Joe blew up at her. Her mother called and put her down; I just needed to make sure she was safe.

I guess it's true, I'm not good at a one night stand, at least not with her. I know that I still need love cause I'm just a man.

These nights never seem to go as planned. I want to tell you that I love you and show you how much all night long. I don't want you to leave in the morning.

I wrap her small hand in mine and send up a little prayer, please let her hold my hand. She held on tight and looked up at me with tears in her eyes. I could see the love shining out of them for me, but also the fear. I knew I had hurt her with my words so many times in the past. I could only hope that this time she would stay with me.

I let my blank face drop, so that she could see the emotions run across my face. The love, hope, fear and longing that were all there waiting to come out. I must have surprised her because she let out a little gasp.

I lowered my head and nuzzled the crook between her neck and shoulder.

"Babe, please stay with me?" I whispered in her ear. I had her in my arms and I never wanted to let her go.

"Are you sure? I don't want to be in your way."

"No Babe, I mean stay with me, hold my hand and never let me go. I love you."

"I love you too. Yes, I'll stay."

My dreams were coming true, she was going to stay with me. It was time to start my someday with her.

She's all I need and she'll stay with me.
