It was early morning; the Garchomp leaned forward expectantly when it heard a rustle from the bushes to the left. It was outside of the Pokémon Centre. Garchomp was badly injured – one of its limbs hung weakly from its body.

It could feel the gentle breeze from the wind on its back. A soft humming noise emitted from the bushes followed by the sickly sweet smell of honey.

The Garchomp breathed in the thick scent and prepared to take a step closer.

"What are you doing?"

A cold hand clamped down on the wounded Pokémon.

Aleshia's P.O.V.

From the window, I could see that Garchomp was outside the Pokémon Centre, looking like he was about to attack something.

Normally I would have ignored it. Garchomp is my Pokémon but he doesn't act like it. He never does anything. I can't battle with him because otherwise he just gets injured.

Approximately 24 hours ago, I tried to battle with him. He didn't listen to me. He just stood still and did nothing. In a matter of minutes he was badly injured. I decided at that moment that I wasn't going to enter Garchomp in any battle ever again unless he started listening to me.

I walk through the halls of the Pokémon centre. When I reach the main entrance I start to sprint alongside the building until I find the place where Garchomp is.

I sneak up silently behind him because I know if he hears me he'll try to get away.

I grab the back of his neck.

"What are you doing?"

Garchomp reacts like I zapped him with a tazer.

If this were any other Garchomp, it would slice my face off with its talons but because my Garchomp doesn't do anything, it just shivers and stares at me.

I'm not really sure what's wrong with my Pokémon. It has poor listening skills and some sort of growth problem.

My friend, Zack, told me it's not normal for a Garchomp to be smaller than me. Zack gave me the Garchomp. He wasn't the first trainer of it and neither was his friend who gave it to him.

Zack thinks I should talk to his friend about who gave him the Pokémon to find out what was wrong with it.

He's probably right but I'm not really the kind of person who wants to investigate things. I'd rather be bored.

When people try to investigate things they usually end up getting wound up in trouble or something.

Zack tells me I'm too anti-social. I tell him I don't care.

Garchomp doesn't make sound either. The only thing it does is walk around. It may as well be dead.

The only reason I have kept Garchomp was because it was from Zack. If he hadn't given it to me then I would have just released it into the wild.

I do, fortunately, have one other Pokémon.

Unfortunately, it just manages to be a crap Pokémon.

It's a Pelipper.

Pelipper's not a very good Pokémon and from what I've heard, Garchomp used to be pretty good. I didn't train Garchomp so I have no idea if that were true.

I take Garchomp back inside the Pokémon Centre. He doesn't struggle and I don't expect him to.

Sometimes I wonder if Garchomp and I will ever get along.

A lot of the times I see this as unlikely.
