"Where could he be?" Milly asked as she looked down at Meryl. Meryl looked around the saloon with a nervous expression on her face and said, "I don't know Milly, but maybe we should look somewhere else." "Why?" asked Milly as she look around the saloon, and found out for herself. Every eye was fixated on them. "Hey there, pretty ladies." came a slurred voice from the corner of the bar. "Oh, hi!" said Milly as she smiled happily and waved. Meryl looked up at her, clearly shocked, and just as she began to reply a familiar voice drifted into her ears. "Wait here." said Vash looking back and pushing through Milly and Meryl not realizing who the two were. An expression of glee consumed Milly's face. "It's him, Meryl, look it's Vash" she shouted, her voice resonating though the silent bar. Meryl, still in shock, nearly fainted. They had finally found him. Vash The Stampede, the 10,000,000$$ man, The Humanoid Typhoon. They found the man categorized as a localized disaster himself.

Vash stopped in his tracks, recognizing the voice behind him. He turned around slowly just as Meryl's fist came flying through the air towards his face. They met with an explosion that sent Vash flying onto a table and left a satisfied look on Meryl's face. "Hey!" shouted one of the men who previously occupied the table Vash had nearly flattened, and as if someone had pressed the magic button, the saloon erupted into a massive fight. Trapped in the chaos that ensued Milly and Meryl stood like statues in the brawling saloon. Vash was not so lucky. He had to avoid attacks from every direction, but for a split second he was ignored completely. He dropped to the ground on all fours and crawled towards the two women. "Milly," Vash whispered to the woman that towered him, "get Meryl out of here, okay!" "Okay,Vash." Milly said with a nod. Milly picked up the frozen Meryl, slung her over her shoulder, and ran from the saloon in a full sprint. Vash, still inside, continued to crawl on the ground. The door was inches away, and as he began to open it, it came flying back towards him. Once again sending him flying, this time into a chair. "Vash!" shouted Wolfwood as he burst through the doors. He looked around the bar, trying to pierce through the chaos, and spotted the dazed Vash leaning against a broken chair. "What are you doin?!" screamed Wolfwood as he picked up Vash and ran out of the bar, stopping at the door to pick up his cross.

He carried Vash all the way to the inn where they were staying. At last Vash had a chance to compose himself. He laid on the bed with his hands behind his head, looking up to the roof. He loathed these moments. This was a time where all he could think about was Knives. "Knives" Vash whispered to himself. Vash could not stand to think of the evil that was Knives. The evil that was his brother. "Where next?" came a voice that interrupted his thoughts. "I don't know." said Vash as he looked at Wolfwood who was standing in the door. There was a tap on Wolfwood's shoulder and he moved aside to let the inn worker through. The worker handed a folded note with the name, Legato, on it to Vash, then collapsed to the ground. A knife was protruding from his back. Vash new what was happening. He opened the note. It said, "the city of JUNE". Vash gathered everyone and told where they were going. He looked in Milly and Meryl's direction. "You two can't come." he said sternly. "No!" they both screamed. "It's too dangerous." Vash said as he and Wolfwood moved towards the door. "But..." Meryl began to plead, but Vash was out of sight.
