Before you read this I suggest you watch the Degrassi: Next Class trailer first. -
I saw the trailer yesterday and I must say I am very excited! Cannot wait for the show to return! The hint that Grace is sick and maybe dying is what caught my eye the most.
Well... If it happens it happens... But honestly she is one my fave characters. And if she dies that takes my fave couple away... Ah yes, Thank you Degrassi...
It happened with Maya and Cam, and then with Becky and Adam.
Damn...
Anyways, I'll be updating After Summer real soon. Gonna start on a chapter tonight. If I don't get to post it and say Happy Thanksgiving to you all tomorrow. Have a great one my friends! -Rexie.
The words played over and over in her head. "My whole life people have told be to just stay positive that I'm not gonna die,"
And then came the response. "Well maybe you won't..."
Maybe.
It was such a weak word... It didn't hold promise to anything. It didn't mean that indeed the good would overcome the bad. But it also didn't erase the chance either...
Sitting in the waiting room of the hospital Zoe bit down on her lower lip.
Finally she had been happy, but then Zoe found out the harsh truth; her girlfriend Grace had been struck with severe illness from a young age.
"Hello? Zoe Rivas is it?"
Turning around Zoe saw the doctor standing before her with a weak smile.
"You can come see Grace now. She's doing better at the moment, but we're gonna keep a close eye on her. We're not sure if something could happen,"
Zoe nodded and got off of the chair she was sitting on. "Thanks for doing all you can, Doctor," Zoe said.
"You are very welcome. Now come this way,"
-
"H-Hey, Baby Girl," Grace said weakly, as she managed a smile at Zoe.
"Hey, Grace," Zoe replied. She grinned at her girlfriend and went up to her bed. She leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.
"G-Grace... I love you," Zoe added in.
"I lo-"
BEEP- BEEP- BEEP-
Zoe's jaw dropped. No...
Suddenly the doctor and three nurses rushed in and pushed Zoe into the hallway.
Fifteen minutes later the doctor came out.
"Zoe... I'm so very sorry to tell you this... But Grace didn't make..."
The tears began to stream down Zoe's face. "NO! GRACE! NO!"
Zoe got up and raced into the room where her girlfriend laid. The nurses were cleaning up and were shocked by her entrance.
"GRACE! DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T LEAVE ME!" Zoe cried, leaping onto the bed and hugging the now deceased and limp body.
The nurses knew better than to remove Zoe from the bed. The doctor told them to leave the room and give Zoe the time she needed.
"Oh Grace... I-I love you so much...W-Why'd you have to die!? You were the best thing that ever happened to me..."
Zoe kept crying through out the hour and went she was too emotionally exhausted to go on, her cries died down.
She laid there looking at Grace. Who was once full of life. Full of fight. She was so good to Zoe. So good to her friends. She was protective, smart, wonderful.
"Zoe?"
The girl glanced up with tired and depressed looking eyes.
"Hey mom..." Zoe managed to choke out.
"It's time to go home, Sweetheart," Miss Rivas said.
Nodding as she got off the bed Zoe looked down at Grace one more time and placed a kiss on her lips.
"I'll never forget you, Cardinal..."
As they left the room and continued on their way to the car, Zoe's tears returned. The love of her life was dead.
