This is just a little dialogue spin-off from 'Longing For Yesterday', and also ties in with 'Here Comes Tomorrow', but if you haven't read either of them then it should still make some kind of sense. Basically me indulging my love of Sherlock and John being all domesticated... ^_^
Yet again, I own nothing here but the (absentee) plot, and sadly that doesn't make me a penny.
"What about guests?"
"No."
"Who do you want to-?"
"No one."
"What do you mean, no?"
"Do try and keep up, John. No: 'a negative answer or decision, not at all, to no extent'. I would have thought that even you would know that."
"But it's a wedding! There have to be guests!"
"Actually, 'there is no must about it'."
"Will you stop quoting for a minute and talk to me?"
"I am sorry that you find my behaviour irritating."
"That, Sherlock, is not an apology. We've talked about this."
"I am truly sorry, John."
"Oh… Umm… Well, okay. Guests."
"I believe we have already settled that particular matter."
"Well I don't. We don't have to invite many people, but I want our friends to be there."
"I do not have friends…"
"…Only one. Quoting yourself now?"
"Hmm. Which of our 'friends' did you intend to invite?"
"Lestrade, obviously-"
"Obviously."
"If you already know, then why ask? Never mind. So… Lestrade, Molly, Mycroft-"
"Mycroft?"
"Yeah. Well, he's your brother, isn't he, and he really does care about you, Sherlock. I think we ought to."
"Hmm."
"If Mycroft comes, then we'll stop at the three guests. How about that?"
"It does sound… appealing. Apart from the Mycroft part. Alright."
"Thank you. Now, food?"
"Must we?"
